Speak Now is the closest you’ll get to an all rock album from taylor it’s country-rock-pop. its so good even has hayley williams and fall out boy features. AND it’s the album with the most longest songs (all of the are over 3:40 for an average of 4:42 per song) it’s really underrated imo

The crazy thing about the ME music video is Taylor saying that if you could look inside her mind, that's what you'd see. She's crazy creative and I think has very vibrant (literally) thoughts. She can literally picture the way she wants it to be. Down to the details.

also, taylor has a very unusual style of playing guitar. she uses her thumb over the top - i think just a remnant of learning to play guitar when she was a little kid and her fingers weren't long enough to reach all the way up to the top string

not sure if anyone explained to you that the random backstage video part of this is because we only got to see part of this performance. she did a full show at city of lover, including songs from her first 6 albums, but scott and scooter were being dicks and would not allow her to include the songs in the video, because they owned them. so the video is a bit disjointed in places because it had to be edited to remove any of the older songs. they also tried to block her from singing any of her older songs when she got the american music awards artist of the decade award, but she somehow got them to give permission so she could sing a medley of songs during her performance before carole king gave her the award

You’re definitely fine doing the speech afterwards. It’s a great speech and I think you’ll really enjoy it and it does have a few Easter eggs (maybe more than a few lol l) for midnight but nothing that’s gonna be critical for you and you’ll appreciate them even afterwards so don’t sweat it!! you could do the NYU commencement before or after idk if it particularly matters she does drop easter egg lyrics that you might not notice unless u do album first but either way a reaction would be great whenever u decide it’s a very good speech!!
