Bonus 31: Behind the scenes on Because Internet (Q&A)
🕑 Added 2019-09-05 23:10:20 +0000 UTCOur cohost Gretchen McCulloch wrote a book about internet linguistics (in case you haven't heard haha) which hit the New York Times bestseller list the first week it was out! We've been enjoying seeing all your posts and photos about Because Internet -- it is very much thanks to all your preorders and regular orders that it's been doing so well!
In this bonus episode, Lauren asks Gretchen your questions about the process of writing Because Internet. How did Gretchen decide what to include? What didn't make the cut? How does writing a pop science book like Because Internet compare to an academic article, like the emoji/gesture article Gretchen and Lauren just wrote together? And how did Gretchen keep herself motivated during the writing process?
Whether you've already read Because Internet, or you want the story on how it came to be before you crack your copy open, this episode takes you behind the scenes on the book writing process!
