Rather than others who are annoying pests at best, or vermin that might approach him, she finds his cute and helpless self to be wonderful. Doting on him in her own twisted way by showing him how little everyone else means to her compared to him (by eating and licking up entire crowds fleeing her, or even devouring towns in the distance). His despair at seeing how monstrous his childhood friend has become only encourages her to even more.

I have the similar idea, she loves to watch him cower and crying. She thinks he is cute and adorable when he is crying.

The troubled look of her (forced) boyfriend (who does still care about her, even if scared of her) as she indulges in her punishment of evildoers is the most enjoyable for her. He can only look at her, or rather he is allowed to only look at her as the others are confined (in her stomach) for their evil deeds (keeping him from looking at her).

Perhaps there is a hidden ploy to eliminate everyone who might "get in the way" between them by her. Clearly anyone who would separate them for even a moment (everyone) is an evildoer. <3
