I've created this model to be a starting template. We'll be editing her as we go along. I want to sort of go through the same steps as I do when creating a character. I like to start with the hair and work from it since I feel it's better to fit a face and other details to hair than it is to try and fit hair to a face.
These are 6 hair options that I've come up with. If the top two options come within 1-2% of each other then there may be a secondary poll with just those two as options. Anything greater than that % and it will stand as is. This poll will run for one week.

I like B I find it works well also afew of my sporty friends have long hair like that so I feel it looks natural to me
A or E makes the most sense for a sporty woman.

True especially since she is meant to be toned she would also either be running regularly or working out a lot for that. Not the handiest hairstyle for that even if looks good. :P
B must be a nightmare to manage with all that humidity, sea salt, and heat getting trapped in such thick hair...
