Map Set 27 Gold (Crashed Cargo Spaceship, Fungalfolk Graveyard, Ruined City District)
🕑 Added 2022-08-13 07:04:01 +0000 UTCHere's our newest map set with 3 new maps!
The first is a Crashed Cargo Spaceship (30x29), which had to take an emergency landing on a snowy planet. Luckily the cold quelled any fiery detritus flung from the haul crumbling hull. Hopefully its haul is still intact. Who knows what mysterious treasures and technologies from far off cultures it holds within?
Encounter Ideas:
- Lost Search Party: Local government officials had sent out an exploratory expedition a week ago but they haven't been heard from since. They have tasked the party with finding out what happened to them.
- Impact Survivors: Your ship has crash landed and most of its systems are offline. You must find sufficient material to repair the damage, but the local fauna is angered by your presence.
- Mutant Wildlife: The fuel or the ship's cargo has seeped into the local wildlife transforming the formerly peaceful creatures into ruthless killing machines. The party must defeat the creatures and nullify the source of their mutations before they reach civilization.
The second map is Fungalfolk Gardengrave (40x30), an ancient burial tomb that is guarded by the Fungalfolk. Long ago a king had himself interred upon death in this dank tomb along with his family and his finest warriors. As time past and the tomb was forgotten a tribe of Fungalfolk found the cavern and used its fertile soil to plant it's own gardens. Oddly enough, as is tradition, the fungalfolk bury their own dead within these gardens to provide nutrients for the growing mushrooms. They tend to stay away from the old tombs as they believe anybody who disturbs them will become the victim of an ancient curse.
Encounter Ideas:
- Ancestral Rites: A descendant of the king believes the lost crown of his forefathers is somewhere within the tomb. He will pay a king's ransom to anybody able to retrieve it.
- Dark Elf Intrusion: Dark Elves have intruded, kidnapping the grave keeper and defiling the tombs, summoning the undead to do their bidding. The fungalfolk have asked the party to remove the elves and their creations.
- Mushroom Hunt: Rumors tell of a specific kind of mushroom that only grows within the fungalfolk gardengraves can be consumed directly from earth to greatly extend one's lifespan. A frail old hermit promises the party all of his worldly possession if they would escort him into the gardengraves to find one of these mushrooms.
The final map is Ruined City District (30x60). This part of town was once a lively community bustling with activity until some ancient evil took residence within the old church. Now only desperate souls find themselves within this haunted quarter, searching for any riches the former residents abandoned when they fled.
Encounter Ideas:
- The Missing: A desperate mother pleads with party to find her missing child, Oldt. One of Oldt's friends says they were playing a game to see who could stay in the district the longest without getting scared but Oldt never came back.
- Cleansing the Grounds: The revenants that still haunt the district cannot be defeated by normal means. They remain until the injustice of their deaths has been rectified. The party must investigate each building, discovering the source of the hauntings and performing holy rituals to finally lay the spirits to rest.
- Lich Liquidation: The party has discovered a Lich has taken up residence in the old church and believe that its phylactery is located somewhere within the ruins. They must find the phylactery and destroy the Lich for good.
