Dear Supporters,
I am deeply grateful for your constant warmth and support!
Time flies, and it has been approximately 4 months since I started my creative journey. To be honest, I'm someone who gets easily bored, so the fact that I've been able to keep going is entirely thanks to all of you. I sincerely appreciate your ongoing engagement with my work.
Recently, I read a book by Kyōhei Sakaguchi titled "The Secret to Continuity". I picked it up during a period when I felt a little weary and uninspired with my creations. The book described a process wherein people start drawing out of pure enjoyment, but gradually quit due to various pressures. It goes like this: start with enjoyment → become accustomed to drawing → seek improvement → start comparing oneself to others → begin to self-doubt → lose confidence and motivation, eventually leading to giving up. Despite beginning with the joy of the act of drawing itself, over time the focus shifts to comparisons and results, which can lead to discouragement.
However, it emphasized that enjoying drawing and having talent are two different things. Even if one doesn't sell their work, they can continue doing it if they find joy in it, and there will always be ways to make it work - this message struck a chord with me.
I, too, was on the verge of falling into this discouraging cycle. I was starting to lose confidence and motivation. But thankfully, I have all of you - my supporters. Even when I post illustrations that I'm not confident in, I receive encouraging likes and comments, and even financial support. To those who have sent warm and uplifting messages, I'd like to express my gratitude once again. Without any exaggeration, I might have given up by now if it weren't for your support. But thanks to you, I can continue doing what I love.
I've come to realize that I can't keep this up unless I'm enjoying it. I aim to enjoy the process first and foremost. I hope that by enjoying and continuing my work, the quality will naturally improve and it will bring joy to all of you. Thanks to your support, I now have the confidence to keep going and I'd appreciate your continued patience and understanding.
Regarding my future activities, I'm considering trying out new things little by little and creating unique content that can only be seen here. I can be forgetful, so if I seem to be all talk and no action, feel free to call me out. It's probably because I simply forgot...
I will continue to do my best in the coming month, and as always, I appreciate your support!
