As soon as she entered the forest at the foot of the mountain, the priestess removed the collar that limited her magic output.
As she picked up the beautiful collar, the gem in its center reflected her depression.
Yes, the collar that had sealed the priestess’ magic had long since been released.
In the first place, this entire business of being banished to this island is all but a farce.
It was the demon lord who came up with this whole idea of being exiled to this island.
And she did it out of concern for the priestess.
So there is no way that the demon lord would have come up with a plan that would jeopardize her entire existence.
To support this fact, she had even implanted a feature into the collar that would cause it to lose its effectiveness and come off of its own accord after about two months.
“Okay, first the food.”
Besides, there were natural magic ores on the island, though not in large quantities, which would help her replenish her mana.
In short, apart from the minuscule mana output, even the lack of mana had never been a problem for her.
And it has become a habit for the priestess to replenish her mana before gathering food.
But to what purpose?
If she wanted to use her magic to escape the island, she would have done so long ago.
The priestess goes to the rock formation, where a magic ore is exposed and replenishes her mana. Then, she immediately ascends into the air.
After gaining some height, as if cutting through the atmosphere, she looks out over the ocean in the distance.
“Hmm, three ships today, huh?”
The priestess’ delicate eyelids narrow, and as soon as she catches sight of the three battleships in the distance, she plows through space at a speed that could almost be described as ferocious.
A flash of silver. That was the priestess’ sudden approach.
And it took the fleet by surprise.
“You bastards! What are you doing in the waters of my island?”
The priestess threatens loudly.
In response, the crew’s demons stir inside the ship. They seem to be discussing something.
After a short while, a demon who appears to be in command of the fleet comes out on deck.
“We are the ship commissioned by the Demon Lord of Newland to explore this island.”
“What is the purpose of this expedition?”
“According to the Demon Lord, there are still two people on the island. Our purpose is to rescue them.”
It is a very honest purpose.
But the priestess rejects it out of hand.
“I don’t trust you at all. Even if you did, there would be no need to search for them.”
“Why is that, if I may ask?”
“Because, as far as I can see, there are no humans left on this island. So your efforts will be in vain.”
“But we have been ordered by the Demon Lord to…”
“Haven’t you heard? It’s futile. So leave. Go now, before I get angry. Or you can insist, in which case I will remove you from my waters by force.”
A huge lance of light hovered over the priestess’s head. Holy magic roared, and a wave of violence erupted.
“Hi, hieeee!! W-we understand! We will leave as soon as possible! Thank you for your guidance! Now, please excuse us!”
And just like that, the demon fleet… the rescue team… turned their ships.
Where minute after, the roar of their ships has completely faded into the distance.
But only after the shadows of those ships were no longer visible that the priestess returned to the island.

“What are you doing?”
When the priestess returned, she saw that the merchant had built a bonfire on the beach.
“Ah, welcome back, though you’re a bit late, priestess. So I went ahead and served myself some fish. Would you like some?”
She looked down at the bonfire, and sure enough, there were a few fish skewered in the fire.
“Even though the collar limits my magic, it won’t take more than a few minutes to cook these, you know? Here, let me.”
“Eh, it’s fine. The fire’s already done. Besides, with all that smoke coming out of it, who knows, maybe a passing ship would see it from a distance.”
“Kufu, ku-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!”
The priestess laughs at the merchant’s dialogue.
It was a deliberate, almost theatrical laugh that easily confused the merchant.
“No rescue will come to us.”
“Eeeh. Come on, it’s too early to lose hope.”
“Lose hope? Why should we? Because we’re stranded?”
“It’s more than…”
“Just hear me out first. Because of my existence, you are practically living in luxury right now. And before you say anything else, how many men across this ocean have the experience of having a sex friend they can fuck at any time? Almost none, right? So it would help if you were to be more grateful.”
The priestess continues, gently tucking her hair behind her ears and lowering her eyes, which have grown a little more mature lately.
“Also, the life of a man who didn’t get washed up on a deserted island but didn’t have a sex friend, or the life of a man who did get washed up on a deserted island but had a sex friend. Which do you think is happier?”
In the end, the merchant was unable to utter a single word in the face of this domineering question.
