Princess Anna + Orc Shield (Work in Progress)
🕑 Added 2020-10-29 11:52:49 +0000 UTCOkay, this is a bigger one, so I'll start off with Princess Anna
First I started off with the rough sketch.
Next I tried something a bit different by starting from greyscale.
I played around with a lot of layer modes and colors, but the greyscale thing didn't really work for me, so I went back to my old basics and added a lot of the colour over the top, only using the greyscale as a reference for the shading.
Here I added a lot of reflective light and refined the shading. It was extremely difficult coming up with a colour scheme that works with the lighting, which is why the clothing are different colours from what you see in the final product.
Up next we have Orc Shield
As usual I start off with the rough sketch. Figuring out her armour was quite fun for me.
Next I did the linework and basic colours. I had a bit of trouble with making her green skin match fit the other colours at first.
As you can see, when I added more of the background colours, I decided to change her skin colour to something a bit more brownish-green.
Here I just added more of the lighting and the reflective light of the armour.
From here on it was just refining most of the piece and adding highlights.
