As usual, here's the rough drawing. This drawing is the most detailed one that I've ever had to do, so the rough comp took a while to finish.
Here is the final lineart and base colours. Because this takes place in a dungeon, I started my base colours very dark.
Here I added some lighting to them, and established my lighting sources. I also made some of the shadows a bit darker.
Here I defined the lighting and the shadows much more. You can see that the light on the ground and the hard shadows on their bodies really add to the overall feel of the light source. Never forget that reflective light!
Here I finished most of the lighting and highlights, with a few exceptions of hard highlights of course.
This piece was probably the hardest one that I've done to date. I really took a lot of time and energy, but I'm really happy with the way it came out. And the client was also very happy, which is also very important. I am currently doing a second piece of the same nature for him. If all goes well I'll be finished with it tomorrow night, but I can't really guarantee anything
