J&J I'm HERE! Just got caught up with this series! I'm pumped to get to follow along as we get to my favorite section of HxH. As I clicked on the collections page I noticed you now have more reactions to HxH then any other other animes! Congrats! I am again impressed at the consistency and effort you both put into this channel. I'm always looking forward to your reactions! This made me curious to know, how do you think the length of a series affects your thoughts on on the show as a whole? For example does the longer a show runs for make it better, or do think that a shorter series (like death note) can accomplish a similar experience as a show with 100+ episodes?

I love how the anime producers adapted the King and the girls Gungi games. It's seriously riveting and exciting stuff! Every scene is so absorbing. The King is learning gungi insanely quickly. It would be fair to call him an intellectual prodigy already. I loved the scene where he was attempting what he called "remote concealment", a move he thought would put the girl on her heels. It was such an interesting reveal when it turns out the girl had come up with the move she had named "kokoriko"...more than a decade earlier! Not only did she come up with the move, she even came up with the counter to that move! While the King is a prodigy, the girl is a genius. It might be fair to call you guys HxH genius's now too. Jared interpreted the reason she hesitated to counter the King's move perfectly. You both are getting the themes of this arc so quickly it's really fun to watch as a viewer.

My interpretation is that the King treats snot girl different because she treats him different than any of the other humans and ants that he has met. Most humans he met have been either scared of him or they were egoistic people (like the leader of East Gorteau). She approached him without fear or arrogance. The King imo is almost like genius and powerful child that that has very high IQ but is lacking EQ. Because she is so different than any other thing in his life so far he is experiencing many new thoughts and feelings. Attraction could be part of it, but it doesn't have to be. And like you said in the end wth even is Love 😆 As it can come in so many forms. Here is to hoping the King can at least make his first connection with someone that has mutual respect.
