To clear a confusion, Eren was able to control pure titans in the past, but he now isnt capable of, this was show when he tried to control Rod reiss so he cant go and compete with the beast on a controling titans battle because he hasnt figured out the requirements and details of that ability.

*first time watcher* Does anyone know how hard it is to put what we just watched, into words? Me. With >50% gibberish, I could prob rattle off over 150 wpm. But to type..🤦‍♀️😮‍💨 No J&J, Im not okay..this was clearly an ambush..details time 👉 The tension was slowly building up from the start. How the focus was on the trio returning to their hometown, nice touch. Then between them advancing to the walls (*) and Eren’s transformation (*), Armin spotted the residue. The nerves from here on were too real. No titans. R&B hiding. Armin’s agony..got to me, I felt it. Then the discovery. Loved how Armin was super nervous with his orders before, and showed some confidence after the discovery. Amazing. Okay that hiding place was creeepy 😣. The moment R was out, Levi 😱🫣!! He went ALL in! That sword’s still stuck through his neck!! And R did some possessed s*** with those eyes, and body before he transformed oh god 🫣 double creeepyy.. Seconds later, that scene behind Erwin 👀. ⚡️💣 Gotta be one of the best entrance scenes. 🤯🤯 but scary af, ngl. And those red eyes. The. Precision. Throw. I can go on and on. Took me a few blinks to realise, wait..where were they standing? (*) Nothing, and I mean nothing beats Erwin’s resolve and calm, this man, 🫡 highest respect. And how in the world does he ODM gear with one arm?! (*) - where the Beast was standing (I took the windmill as a hint), I HAD to rewind, freeze screens. Then for a split sec, I spotted this tube-like thingy sticking out of the ground when the scouts were advancing (right where the windmill was). If that was any indication to where I think they were hiding..🤯🤯 Also, Eren’s transformation wooo! That was crazy shot. But, I noticed that ‘crack’ from the top while he flew above the wall 👀. Like a grip, or broken on both ends. Other parts were clean, undisturbed. Was that from the Colossal when he peeked in first? Just couple more things, but more like notes for me 😅: what device is Erwin hiding? Something Levi said “is that another Titan power”. That specific Titan with a backpack. Is R gonna be able to fight with that sword stuck in his neck 😣. I need a break. Stopping now. 💜🙏🏻

First time watcher here. Things are getting crazyyyy. My boy Armin for president!! “He’s one of our strongest weapons”. He’s so smart it’s crazy. I loved that Erwin gave control to him and he had his own group of scouts too. I need him to survive first, but i see a squad leader/ potential commander in the making?👀 No, but I’m actually so scared somethings gonna happen to Armin. I’m tryna debunk with the fact that he narrates the show so I’m keeping faith that my boy not going nowhere. It’s just that this episode focused so much on him I just knew something was about to happen. I couldn’t take the anticipation of when R&B would attack with the beast Titan. But I was NOT expecting them to have a whole army!! Let’s talk Levi. My guy ain’t waste NO time. He stabbed Reiner so fast and the way he charged down the wall with the blade in his Reiner’s neck. Savage. He’s a superior soldier fr. I always love seeing him in action. The fight begins!!! Like Erwin said Humanity or Titans. I think humanity is bouta suffer multiple great losses. This episode is so good that their arrival to Shiganshina gives me infinite goosebumps. The way the camera pans over Shiganshina with the music, the way the scouts all go into formation and launch themselves at the wall, the way the camera pans through the scouts flying through the hole in the wall, Eren launching himself up and transforming while falling with the yellow lightning shooting down from the sky and the thunderous bass in sound effects of the transformation. It's SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL I could cry 😭 There's so much on the line, the stakes are high and you can feel it through the cinematography and sound design of this episode. So brilliant.

From here on out this show is like a bullet train and it ain't gonna stop. Something i noticed on this rewatch i thought was interesting is at the beginning when Armin helps Eren remember or realize his strength when he's having his moment of internal panic and struggle which helps Eren succeed in sealing the first gate comes full circle back to Armin when Erwin puts him in charge and the others are second guessing him while he's having his own internal panic as well. Erwin says "he's our best weapon against the titans" and it turns out to be correct as he's the only one able to deduce Reiner and Bertholdts ambush, so like you said they were at least somewhat more prepared so in this sense Armin was also successful. Shows how much support and trust is important for morale even if it is only one person demonstrating it to you in a time of need, fear or despair. It only takes one person to believe in you in this world and you can accomplish great things.

What you said about Erwin's personal interest being united with the interests of humanity is, in my opinion, not only true for this show, but is the correct approach to life. It isn't a question of the individual vs the collective, but of the constant work to unite them in everything a person does. However, there is only the basis for unity between Erwin and humanity, there are many conflicts between them. In most situations they can be managed, but what happens when they "come to a point" like when Erwin was bitten by that titan? Now he's forced to choose: call for help, or tell them to advance?

At 44:07, there is a visible protrusion in the ground near the Shiganshina inner gate. Without going into too much detail, this shows that the enemy had planned their attack well before the Scouts arrived. Just another example of foreshadowing in this show which most viewers, including myself, missed the first time watching. This is why AOT is so fun to rewatch! Also, great reaction guys! To say Season 3 Part 2 is an emotional rollercoaster would be an understatement. But that's why it's arguably the best season of AOT imo! Hope you enjoy the remaining episodes 😊
