Re-read this and just want to build on my earlier "wow wow wow" comment -- I love the depth here!!!! Obviously it's incredibly hot and on the surface a little light-hearted considering they're just playing, but it's tugging at their Dark Pasts (TM) too. How many people has Astarion used those exact lines on before? Same for DU. And every time, their target really was gone in the morning, i.e. dead!!! (Or at least Astarion thought they were.) So they're pretending, but they're also reliving......... but ALSO, it's not a fantasy anymore!!! Now they can play these little games with each other and neither one is gone by morning!! In that way, DU Drow kinda sorta IS Astarion's first and last!!!!! So on the surface it's sweet, but under that it's pretty dark, BUT THEN UNDER THAT IT'S SWEET ALL OVER AGAIN!!!! djdjfhdj thank you for creating this, it is just so good. Looking forward to the final!!

I'm not 100% sure because this concept has been in my mind for ages, but I think it was a joke my boyfriend made about them pretending not to know each other to keep things fresh. Then, I thought about it in more "serious" terms and got the idea that Astarion might find himself enjoying being put in the place he put so many other people, except with a happy ending (the emotional implications of it are up to interpretation)
