not sure if this was intentional, but seeing how astarion's pupils are contracted to pinpricks long before the bite makes me think this is one of the early act 1 encounters and he isn't having all that much fun

Alright, cool beans, so I can say this: You nailed dissociation (at least how I experienced it). It's absurd how an image can just bring a feeling of unnatural stillness and the subsequent eye movement has the perfect underwater slow crawl. I am super looking forward to seeing this, thank you as always.

It IS actually a very specific moment! This is their second night together (the second time that Astarion asks you to share bunk in-game) which did not culminate in sex at all. It's basically a strange little moment where several elements crossplay that allow for their relationship to flourish in the future. DU drow bites him and snaps Astarion back to present, his own actions (and the unmentionable thought process behind it) puts him off sex, and changes his perspective on himself and his relationship with Astarion. While in itself an act of agression, it *is* still a moment of vulnerability on his behalf that only Astarion happens to be privy to - this pleases him for several reasons that you can probably deduce.

If you are up for sharing, I was wondering about when this is happening/ I guess just general thoughts about what's going on. I really appreciate the care you put into showing their sex life, and this strikes me as being fairly early on when dissociation is more common. Basically, it's giving me some strong feels (good which is what art should do) but I don't want to misinterpret since I know there was an ask you were answering.
