Construction
🕑 Added 2024-04-16 22:43:13 +0000 UTCAll winter and now Spring they have been doing this construction. Replacing the drinking water intake lines for the county. Supposed to be done soon but I'm not holding my breath. All would be fine if I could drive down to my boat. I can't. Have to walk over a hillside and it's almost always 2 trips with the stuff I bring.

Hi Michael, Have you looked at the big tired garden carts. Don't know if you have Tractor Supply down your way, but Walmart carries them also. Just make sure you get the big tires for easier going over the muddy areas. They are like the old red wagons but the one I have is steel mesh sides/bottom, carries all sorts of weight. I have seen the canvas sided ones, but have not seen them with big tires, maybe you can find one. As far as the construction is, go make friends with the foreman. Bring him coffee and donuts and cold drinks. Then ask him about grading off your land. We have crushed concrete and RAP (recycled asphalt product) up here, which is really cheap for base products. They will probably give it to you, but if not, it is so cheap it is worth you (or the patreons) paying for it. Then tell the foreman exactly what you would like/hope they could do for you. If you tell them ahead of time, they can think about it and will most likely do way more than you ever would have thought. At least that is how the big construction companies are around here, just make sure tell them as soon as you can. They won't want to do anything if you wait until they are trying to move to the next job. Have a great day. Take care.
