“It’s so nice to meet you, Scott” Mom said, shaking his hand.

We all went into the dining room and sat down. It was still completely baffling to me that my parents had invited the two of them over for dinner, but I was almost twenty, so throwing a tantrum about it wasn’t an option.
“So” Dad smiled, as he filled a glass with wine and handed it to Scott, “how did you two meet?”.
Sarah giggled like a schoolgirl, and I rolled my eyes. She was thirty four years old, and the toy boy next to her was barely twenty three. She held onto his big, bulging arm as he grinned into his glass, and puked out a grossly romantic story.
“Scott trains in my local gym” she said, blushing already, “he decided to… Well, let’s just say that he decided to help me out a bit”.
I felt like gagging, and even Mom looked disturbed, but Dad chuckled, and the nauseating conversation continued until dinner was served.
“What about you, Carter?” Scott said, and my face obviously showed that I hadn’t been listening to a single thing they’d been saying. “What have you done with yourself since school? God, I remember you back then” he smiled, “didn’t you used to eat your lunch in the restroom?”
I winced at the words. He was leaving out the very important fact that him and his moron buddies were the reason I ate alone in the restroom, but I forced a half laugh.
“I’m uh… I’m in college” I said, keeping my head down.
“Oh? You never seemed the type”.
Another less-than-subtle dig. “Makes both of us” I mumbled, and Scott laughed again.
“Oh, I didn’t need to go to college” he said proudly, “my parents gave me a sizeable loan to help kickstart my investment portfolio. I had it paid back in just a few months”.
“That’s very impressive” Dad said, evidently not picking up on the fact that the guy was literally bullying me at the dinner table. “Your parents must be very proud”.
“They are” Scott said, and pushed his glass toward Dad, who stupidly filled it up again. “Though, they spend most of their time in their vacation home in the south of France. I bought it for them as a little anniversary gift”.
“May I be excused?” I asked, because if I heard anymore bragging from Scott, I was fixing to puke.
“You’ve barely eaten your dinner” Mom said, and I rolled my eyes and sighed as I slouched back onto the chair.
The gross conversation continued for another hour before Dad finally got tipsy enough to offer me some wine. I eagerly accepted it, because enduring Scott Jenkins was far fucking easier with alcohol.
“I’m exhausted” Sarah eventually said, and I wanted to fist pump the air.
“You should take the spare room!” Mom said, in a stroke of genius. My eyes widened as I tried to get her attention, but the decision was made seconds later, and I felt like ripping my face off.
“Oh, you’re so good” Sarah yawned, and got to her feet. “Are you coming, babe?”
I scrunched up my face and Mom gave me a stern look.
“I’ll follow you up, babe” he replied, and my blood ran cold. Hadn’t he gotten the hint that he most certainly wasn’t wanted? At least by me, anyway.
Sarah looked disappointed, and I could hazard a guess why. Despite that, she kissed her boyfriend and bid farewell, and just as I decided to get up and leave, Mom announced her departure, and Dad followed suit.
“I’m sure you two have lots to catch up on” Mom beamed, kissing me on the forehead. “Goodnight sweetie. Goodnight, Scott”.
Seconds later, my nightmare had come true, and I sat there, across the table from my high school bully.
“I’m shot” I said, draining the last of my wine, but before I could move, Scott filled my glass, and then his own.
“I’m sure you have enough energy for a glass of wine with an old friend” he smirked, and my heart throbbed.
Scott was, indeed, a very, very handsome young man, but that didn’t take away from the fact that he was a cunt. He’d always been a snobby, spoiled fuck, and the years hadn’t changed a single thing, except now, he was even more insufferable.
“Must be tough” he said, sipping, “being… What are you now, twenty? And still living at home with Mommy and Daddy?”

“I think I was nineteen when I purchased my first penthouse” he chuckled, “Miami Beach” he added.
“I’m sure it’s nice when your parents are rich” I smiled back, and gulped a mouthful of wine.
