Somebody stole my work and made a game using my scenes.
🕑 Added 2024-04-14 18:59:25 +0000 UTCA supporter showed me this Steam game page, just from the preview I can see at least 3 of my scenes have been used without getting my consent first.
Although I'm flattered, this is not cool :) I've contacted a high school friend of mine who is an IP law attorney in California. We will be pressing charges next week(gathered a lot of evidence over the weekend). I haven't been involved in any IP lawsuit in the US yet, this is my first one. Let's see how it goes :) I'm kind of excited to learn more about US's justice system!

话说这些有产权概念吗?

Wow that’s some bullshit, but at least it shows how great the quality of your work is :). I’m sure if you reach out to VAM they will also support the delisting. Hope it works out for you!

I also see a bedroom asset that was released for free at the hub. And one scene that seems to belong to KittyMocap too. Dude is shameless.

You should be able to get it de-listed from Steam easily for TOS violation. That would also help an IP law case since it shows you’re taking active steps to protect your work. (obviously run that by your legal friend)

You'll need to look at the VAM licenses, but reaching out to the game dev is definitely a good idea. They should not want to burn any bridges with you, since you can provide content to support their work.

I know haha. My attorney friend told me the IP law in US is just as bullshit as in China. I’m not suing for damage thou, just for a DMCA takedown. Since the game hasn’t launched yet.

I'll say, get prepared for disappointment

I would not be surprised if he uses the raining night scene too somewhere there.

Man… definitely can see the sofa bed scene and the piano scene there.
