W.I.P #165 (Animated) - Spice (+Ankha update)
🕑 Added 2025-10-23 15:02:42 +0000 UTChey guys first off just wanna apologize about the ankha animation taking an outrageously long time to finish :'] multiple reasons behind that - main one being the iskra skit requiring my full focus for like 3 days straight with very little sleep (which in hindsight probably wasn't helping me very much). had to take a breather since by the time that was finished i was exhausted and riddled with back/neck/shoulder pain. i'm feeling recharged now, however, so that's epic.
another reason was that there is a SURPRISING lack of fitting scenes that were readily available for the ankha thing. like you'd think egyptian architecture, being as iconic as it is, would be a simple thing to find assets for - but it really was not (at least not in the specific style i was looking for). maybe i just wasn't looking in the right places, who knows. there was also a little scare with the first part of the animation being overwritten by an earlier unfinished version - had a VERY valid crashout over until i was miraculously able to find a backup in my recycling bin that had the majority of my progress in it so all is well.
i'm currently rendering the ankha animation - i imagine it's gonna take a bit to finish due to the fact that it's split up in 3 parts (much like the pulchra animation). but on the bright side, i think it looks VERY good so far, so that's a relief. assuming all goes well, (which it should given how many tests I've done) i should have it all rendered in the next 1-2 days (ideally 1 day - it just depends on how long each scene takes to finish since my PC can only do so much). here's a look at the render so far! (which is about 90% finished)
great SCOTT! a turborenegade scene that doesn't take place in advanced darkness!?!?!but anyways, i'll cool it with the myriad of excuses and actually get on topic. since the ongoing rendering is not completely eating up my system's resources, i should also be able to get some good progress done on the spice animation. i've already got a pretty solid chunk of it worked on, i just need to add some more variation and details to the animation to make it a bit more visually interesting. physics are looking CLEAN though, so that makes me happy. though as i mentioned, it'll probably be on the shorter side since there's a hard deadline (halloween) and i definitely wanna do a skit for it by then as well - though i'll be sure to get as much done for it as i can before that deadline starts creeping (haha) up on me :]
plans after that are still up in the air but i think i'm pretty locked in on one potential animation involving a fan favorite who recently got a major update to their model (unless im out of touch and SCP 1471 is, in fact, NOT a fan favorite - in that case you're free to point your fingers and call me a buffoon)
that's all i got for now. thanks as always for your continued support and immense patience! looking forward to sharing more as soon as it's ready :] take care
