I would do both. I think some people would like a game mode and some would like to skip.

To clarify, this would make maps unlock progressively instead of having the lobby map-selector. You would unlock more maps by finding exits, interacting in specific ways or solving (very simple) riddles scattered throughout the maps. If you complete everything, the map-selector unlocks for the Lobby.
