I love how 'backwards' this is from normal reality. "Don't stay up all night, fucking!" is normal enough, but then it's followed up with 'oh you can go ahead and fuck my wife, though, that's fine (as long as I watch)' The inversion of normalcy along with the casualness of the sex is so lovely.

He's not missing memories, exactly. This is explained more thoroughly later on, but it's not really spoilers to mention it now either. The idea is that reality is changing, but he's the only one whose mind isn't also being changed along with everything else. He actually did fuck the teacher's wife in this reality. But since his mind isn't changing along with everyone else's, he doesn't 'remember' it.
