Dragon's Eye Minimap - Release Version Showcase
🕑 Added 2024-10-04 08:41:06 +0000 UTCHi guys! Video showcase here of how the release version will look. I would love to hear your opinion on this.
I still have to solve proper gamepad support and a last cool gameplay feature for those that want a more challenging experience that I will also implement in Compass Navigation Overhaul. Can you guess what could it be? :)
Soon I will release the last beta version before releasing it to nexus so you have the chance to give me your inputs and shape the FINAL FORM.

Could you provide the download for this version? Finally everything I want in the minimap, great work

Hmm I don't have a wide-screen, but I remember users of CNO that did set the questlist x offset to -0.1. From that I deduce, if you want to move the minimap more to the right, I would say that a good starting value would be 1.1. If you want it more to the right or to the left increase or decrease that value. Tell me if this helped and which value worked best for you :D

What would be a good ini config for us 21:9 users?

Awesome, thank you :)

I am thinking of 2 settings that can be toggled upon button press. Like "big map <--> small map", "same as "hide map - show map" I am not sure if this would be womething that people use, so do not worry too much :)

Hmm what about hold the control key to enter that mode? This would replace the current control mode (optional). It's interesting, I will add it to the list for after 1.0 release thanks!
alexsylex
Yep I'll allow customisation of controls. I think that's the best, since each can have their own control mappings.

Whenever the minimap is not shown, it will negate the performance impact.

Suggestion gamepad: Make it like the camera controls. - Press a button (please allow a combination with 1 or 2 modifier) to toggle map control mode - In map mode the right stick moves the mini map instead of the camera. Probably let the player customize which stick moves the camera, left or right. - Hold an other button, probably the left stick to zoom with the right stick (same as camera controls) - Press a button in map control mode to hide/show the map. ------- Alternative: - Do not use a toggle button but require the button (combination please) to be held. This requires stick customization because some button combinations only leave one specific thumb free for stick controls. - Make a specific button (combination) for map toggle.
Askarus
Suggestion: Add 2 modes that can be toggled via a button while in map control mode. Moth modes can be configured (size, position, shape, transparency). What I have in mind is a toggle like in a ARPG where you can get the map as a semi-transparent overlay over the whole screen. Maybe some just want to have 2 map sizes. This should be optional to not get in the way but maybe it'll be an interesting addition for later.

Question: If the map is hidden, will it negate the performane impact or is everything still running in the background?

It doesn't sound familiar. I will try it! Thank you.

very cool
alexsylex
Sure, that sounds great to me. I will take your opinion into great consideration ;)
alexsylex
I will try to have it in the next releases asap.

Did you install Infinity UI? It's a hard requirement, otherwise it will CTD. In the next release I will add a pop up message warning, since this would not be the first nor the second time.

Looking great, I much prefer the round and the ability to hide the map is great. I play mostly with a controller due to my disability's. If you can give us changeable hot keys preferably in a MCM I can map them to my controller hotkeys. I would much prefer that than dedicated controller key that might mess up my controller setup. Mainly don't change the Controlmap.txt/ini file or force a key change. I can't use this mod anymore if it overrides any controller keys. I know my situation is unique but it would be appreciated. Thanks for such a great mod!

Wow great work does the dragon eye have mcm function?

I really like the GTA5 feel, but as a veteran player, I don't have much reason for a minimap because I know where everything Is and I try to keep as much UI hidden as possible. I don't like anything on the screen unless its directly useful, and what you displayed here seems like It could be. The most useful thing for me would be detecting enemies on the map with a red icon or something, and a navigation system, say like GTA's GPS or fables sparkling trail. I didn't notice any features like these so I was wondering If they were included. I tried the beta and get CTD as soon as the game starts, so that's a bummer.
alexsylex
Yeah I know, and a bit to the bottom. It happens as well with the squared version, small thing to polish, but will fix it for the beta ;)

It looks awesome! just a simple thing i've noticed, the circle when you spin, the outer circle of the map and the points that go around the inner circle is a bit uncentered spinning a bit to the left off center, look at the two points at 0:12. This is a simple thing i've noticed, wouldnt stop me from using this map though this mod is awesome.

That looks great!
