I started typing a reply multiple times because I was just baffled by the whole objection. Every time I erased it because I remembered that getting into those kinds of arguments online provides nothing but frustration. I'm a work in progress, and still trying to get better at not letting people who I've never met get under my skin. And then I saw this and felt much better about not saying anything lol.

While I enjoy reading people fighting about political stuff on twitter, I think this is not the space for it so I appreciate this decision. But just to be sure, what's your opinion about comparing event in your work to history or current world event. Because this kind of conversation can quickly get political but I think it's interesting nonetheless and that they have their place here.

The comment is still up on the previous chapter but it basically boiled down to the guy saying that Sen thinking that mortals are people deserving of respect is "social justice pandering".

Meh, someone does something in the story that a reader takes to be the author's absolute "I will die on this hill" position. It's how you get weird narratives like "Winnie the Pooh" is British propaganda to make colonialism palatable or the McDonald's mascots are a playbook to create an open dystopian facist regime.

Any time someone starts ranting about "social justice," it's a massive red flag. The person is using some pretext from the content to start a fight. It'd be like someone dropping the term MAGAt in a comment.

Totally agree. Thanks for setting and enforcing those expectations. I usually just read the chapters and move on, but I sometimes read the comments to see what others thought about certain chapters and I don't really want to read rants, whether they be political or otherwise.
