Marian Ch

Sen's justifications for hating and destroying the whole sect were flimsy before this easily. This is just the author giving more granularity regarding how big of a bellend he can be at time.

DeathTick

I'm like 90% sure she's dead. I get it. I know we saw her perspective and we're more willing to side with her due to it, but let's think of this from Sen's pov. He doesn't know her. He doesn't really care for her either. Fall he knew, she might have been lying to save her own life because she knows Judgement's Gale has a soft spot for mortals. He can't afford to let her live.

ScarletIce

In my opinion, if Sen kills Cao Kai-Ming, it will make his justification for wiping out her sect a lie. He claims to be doing this to protect his daughter and his town. And wiping out the entire sect is the best way to do that, primarily because trying to filter out and spare the "innocents" is unrealistic and dangerous. However, Kai-Ming is a lone cultivator out in the wilds that poses no threat to him. When faced with death, all she could think to do was beg him to help a mortal village in her absence, demonstrating that she is a good person that doesn't deserve death. So he has in front of him a cultivator that poses no threat and has proven themselves to be a good person. They are alone in the wilds, so there is no immediate danger to force him to act hastily. Killing her here and now won't protect his town, it won't make his daughter safer. It would be an act of indiscriminate revenge and nothing more.

Magisch

Sounds like a "take her back to the sect with him" type of angle. She didn't try anything and her only wish in the face of certain death was helping some mortals.

Daniel

IMO Judgment's Gale judgement will be...ye shall be spared.

Mason Nyx

To be fair... It's not like there can be any real cliffhanger about Sen or anyone in his group dying to this sect at this point. This though... that's a cliffhanger, even if I'm nearly Sen didn't kill her.

CipherFTW

Jesus. That was.. Dark.. not bad dark, just not what I was expecting fron the next chapter. Anyways, as always, thank you!

BoadBoad

Controversial opinion here. I want her to die. Sen has been hyping himself up to "Do what must be done." to much for him to go all soft right at the start.

Codered999

"Why did you spare me?" "Swear to the heavens you'll never associate with the Twisted Blade Sect or vengeance in their name." "I swear it." "Hm, well, I will tale care of your village, but I will need an overseer, I'm very busy after all, would you like a job?"

Larynx Punchworthy

I’m really hoping Sen is able to find it in his heart to have mercy. Sect annihilations always seemed like an unnecessarily brutal trope, and I’m rooting for Sen to rise above the violence, even if it causes him trouble down the road

BelligerentGnu

No, what's-his-face, the cold blade assassin dude, he was spared because he pleaded for his subordinate's lives.

Newbie_101

I think this is a good setup for the kind of decisions Sen is going to have to make in this war. Does he freeze his heart solid and go with "your masters are fools and you all die"? Or does he allow for the possibility of mercy, even though it is more dangerous to him?

IndyBart

Was Sen not good enough with all his skills you had to add the Dao of the Cliffhanger? Come on man, cut us slack!!!!

Captain Nuclear

Alive! Cmon. I'm.. I'm sure the author wouldn't kick my like that. He'll play it all cool. "I didn't want to take care of the village so I left you alive, you do it."

Cameron Richardson

I really hope Sen lets her live!

luda305

Faith in him leaving her alive or dead?

Captain Nuclear

Yep

Captain Nuclear

Okay, well, I finished it... I'm a little worried. Little worried. I have faith though. I believe in Sen.

Abdulaziz ALRumaih

If sen doesn’t bring her back to his sect we riot who’s with me

Robert Adams

I hope Sen let her live. She's probably the first cultivator he's ever come across who didn't immediately think of bargaining for their own life when he held them at his jian's edge.

CentaureHeart

Dying is probably going to help her village even more than if she were alive. How sad.

Captain Nuclear

I haven't finished the chappie yet, but dead god. Could you have signposted "THIS IS A SIDE CHARACTER!" Any harder, Eric? 🤣🤣🤣 Two paragraphs. Woman. Hates sect wars. Loves mortals. Hates her sect. Expeditions into the wilds. Alchemy. Like... yup, she's joining Judgement in about 5 minutes.
