Whiskey Wednesday
🕑 Added 2021-04-21 22:40:12 +0000 UTCIt had to be Midleton Very Rare Barry Crockett Legacy for this week's Whiskey Wednesday. It wasn't an easy choice, with so many top shelf Irish Whiskeys to choose from at a local pub, but I think I made the right one. What a special and delicious whiskey! Every sip from the beginning to end was really, very good. Maybe sipping it outside, on a lovely afternoon, added to the enjoyment of it as well.
Released in 2011, Midleton's Barry Crockett edition was named after the distillery's master distiller. It is the first whiskey, since John Jameson that an Irish Distillers product had been named after a Master Distiller. It is aged in both bourbon and new American oak barrels. It has a limited release of only 2500 bottles a year.
Cheers to making it halfway through the week! ๐ฅ
Notes from Masters of Malt:
Nose: Soft, sweet notes of barley, floral honey, rosemary, citrus, cut hay, Summer meadows and toffee apples.
Palate: Sweet tobacco leaves and cedar, sugared peels, toffee, honey softness, vanilla and boiled sweets.
Finish: Very creamy and vanilla-rich, cinnamon and a little pear drop on the tail.

Iโve never tried it. Iโll add it to the list. There arenโt many Irish whiskies I donโt like. Another tumbler to share the next time I am in Las Vegas ๐

Jordan, so glad to see you in a sweater....they are so flattering on you. Believe it or not, the picture of whiskey looks so good it makes me want to sample some despite not being a whiskey aficionado. Wow, I would love to spend an afternoon with you outdoors enjoying springtime, you and a nice meal with drinks.

No offense, but rather see more of you than the whiskey ๐ฅ ๐
