**What's "Songkran"?
Songkran is a Thai Festival held every 13-15th April, where it was considered 'Thailand's new year' before international New Year came in place. April was one of the hottest time of the year in Thailand, so Songkran celebration includes playing with water to fit the climate.
More broadly, what people do in streets during songkran is:
-Water fights
-Make markings with chalk-water solution for blessings
Some streets are closed during Songkran specifically to make place to play Songkran.

It is!!! I'm always glad when tourist came to Thailand with Songkran in mind. Unfortunately for this year it'll be postponed or even cancelled, because of disease outbreaks.

To play water fights, I should say some roads are closed during songkran, to make space that people can walk around and not get hit by cars lol
