The village of Neudorf [55x70] and the drought that hits it

If you also want to use the drought variant, I have written a quest idea.
Quest Idea:
Our heroes reach this flourishing village and are asked for help. They are offered a lot of gold if they destroy a terrible demon that is threatening the village. According to a "prophecy", he will come in three days and bring withering. During this time, the heroes can relax, pursue other quests or look for more information. On the first day, all the fish in the water disappear and no more birds can be seen. A violent fight breaks out between various residents. Started by two fishermen's boys and the older tavern owner. On the second day, the owner of the small inn suffers a stroke, lies in a coma and sounds like from hell sound from her open mouth. Villagers arm themselves.
On the morning of the third day, the old baker hangs himself from the statue in the village square. At midday the sun stops moving. The grass begins to wither and the water stops flowing. A few more hours of chaos pass in which families arm themselves, threaten each other and perhaps even fight.
Then, an armored man on a horse rides into the village, he looks exactly like the equestrian statue. Behind him trot demonic creatures whose faces are still human. Among them are the old baker and other former residents. The rider now announces that the time to pay has come. He shows a contract that was signed 60 years ago. A little more than half of the residents at the time signed the contract, which made it binding for everyone and their descendants. The villagers are promised live and luck. Today in return, they must hand over the souls of every third young resident and all the rest must live in the vicinity of this withered place until the end of their lives, but in his kindness he is willing to give them the ability to eat dust.
Our heroes have a variety of options:
- Leave the villagers to their fate.
- Fight the demon and make a powerful enemy. He can only be truly killed in his own hellish domain. After that, they gain control of the contract.
- Make the demon a counter offer or challenge him to a game.
- Support the demon in implementing his contract and gain wealth and power.
