The Devils Pit [64x75] (A Witcher Location free for everyone)
🕑 Added 2024-02-05 10:41:07 +0000 UTCThis map is my take of a location from The Witcher 3. Accordingly, I made everything I have created for this map free for everyone. I love this location which in my opinion has an incredibly captivating backstory that can also be implemented well in a DnD.
The idea is that a highly contagious plague-like disease has broken out locally and in a limited manner. The authorities' reaction is to fence in an old quarry and send all the sick here to guard them. It is becoming a contaminated under-provided place of despair, hatred and death. A possible adventure approach would be for the heroes to be put in here too and now have to fight for their survival, food and medicine (perhaps adding magical protection next to the palisades to make escaping too easy).
Or you can take the Witcher approach and let the heroes explore this place after everyone is dead. This mass suffering has given rise to a terrible spirit of revenge that haunts this place.

Actually, I normally would have said that I don't have a desert version and that creating a suitable one would take quite a long time since I didn't plan one from the start (which is true). But I just had nothing to do for some hours, thought “**** it” and did it. Its in a new zip file at the end of the post. The Desert version is not perfectly worked through like other maps but I hope it fits your idea! :) Ps. I have now only made the desert version in high res and 10mb without a night versions or VTT files. But if anyone wants it, just comment here and I'll do it when I have time.

Is there by chance going to be a desert version. That would be awesome for my Dark Sun game!

I also added walls to the railings on the Devils Pit map. In Foundry I would recommend making these walls transparent but blocking passage. This makes it easy to show the height differences between the levels :)
