A mini dungeon [25x30] (swamp and jungle) (patreon version)
🕑 Added 2021-03-09 10:10:54 +0000 UTCFor today's map I tried to build a mini dungeon. There is a version in the swamp and one in the jungle.
For the swamp version, I also have a little quest scenario.
An idea for a low level quest
Our heroes will be sent to this place to hunt down a notorious robber baron. He is feared for his robberies and makes life difficult for the nearby villages. The even bigger problem is that a few years ago he ambushed a magician and stole his magical elixir. Now, magically changed monsters have been coming out of the swamp again and again lately. The facts seem clear: The knight has used the elixirs to rise to warlord and is now breeding a monster army. At least that's what all clients and authorities assume when they hire your heroes to solve the problem.
But when our heroes arrive here, things won't be that easy anymore. The cave is secured with several traps and there are also a few domesticated guard creatures in the lower rooms. The robber baron's children (young adults) live in the upper cave. But the robber baron to be killed has long been dead (his corpse lies in the small lake).
He died of the long-term effects of poisoning by the magical elixirs. He threw the elixirs into the swamp after he realized that they are dangerous (hence the monsters that threaten the surrounding villages)
The dilemma: His children are also robbers. But they have to be robbers in order to survive in this swamp. They have also been completely socialized by their father, so they have no moral understanding of property and that it is bad to attack others. They only know life in the cave and are content. How will your heroes deal with them?
In addition, it will be more difficult for your heroes to simply arrest them all and bring them to the next authority so that they can be dealt with there. Because before his father threw them all away, one of the siblings mutated as a result of the magical elixirs. He is now held in the north-eastern area by magic spell stones and lives on a stone. In the event of a threat, his siblings will release him and use his mutated abilities against attackers.
(Outwardly he has no mutations and can also speak normally, which makes it even more interesting when your heroes enter the room and find a normal person on the magically secured stone)
