Ch 7- The Trump Card--Part 1
🕑 Added 2022-12-18 13:18:58 +0000 UTC"I can't believe that you tricked me into eating that... Ugh," I said while pointing my wand at my mouth and once again applying a mouth-freshening charm. I looked at the absolutely gorgeous culprit walking beside me with narrowed eyes.
"It's not my fault you were so gullible. And the face you made trying to convince me," She puckered her face and said in a deep voice, " 'It tastes quite good, Apolline' you looked so constipated saying that... that..." her mouth puffed up as she tried to control herself but quickly lost control and started laughing her ass off, "Haha Haha,"
"That... That's because you told me it was the best dish there on the menu," I said with wide eyes while pointing my finger at her, "You used my ignorance of French cuisine against me, YO... YOU EVIL WITCH," I fake shouted.
"That I am," She said while bowing graciously before she continued while snickering, "And you know the best part. The way you kept sending pleading glances to the waiter for him to get you a glass of water. That was just so adorable,"
"And he would have understood a fellow man's distress, if he wasn't so busy ogling you," I sighed while shaking my head.
We were walking toward my hotel after having dinner at the restaurant Apolline had picked. It was late enough that the streets were very lightly crowded but she still applied a weak notice me not charm on herself. She was wearing a body-hugging red cocktail dress which made it very hard to look away from. The moonlight shining on her blonde hair, made her seem almost ethereal.
"I guess there are some cons to going on a date with a Veela," she said with a small smile on those luscious lips, "You would have a very hard time getting anyone's attention,"
"Well, I guess you lose some," I said before making a deliberate show of roaming my eyes up and down her form, "You win some,"
"You haven't won anything," She said while flicking her hair in a deliberate show of haughtiness.
"Yet," I smirked and she hit me with the bag in her hand while hiding her smile.
We ambled very slowly while joking around but eventually arrived in front of the hotel. The front lobby visible through the glass was mostly empty with just a female receptionist filling a crossword puzzle.
"Well, this is the castle that I rented for the night in France," I said while theatrically showing the hotel, she giggled while shaking her head. I asked smoothly "Do you wanna come up and see the view, My Fair Lady?"
"Umm... Maybe some other time," she said while looking down at her watch, "Fleur is babysitting my youngest daughter and I don't know how long I can leave them alone before they bring the house down,"
She had told me about her family during dinner, she said that she had gotten amicably divorced from her husband about two years ago and as Fleur mostly stayed at Beauxbatons, Gabrielle, her youngest daughter stayed with her.
She was out today shopping for fleur as she would be going to England this year. Fleur was supposed to come along with her but the babysitter for Gabrielle bailed at the last minute so she came alone. She had already sent a message home before dinner that she may be late.
"At least let me serve you a cup of coffee," I urger her while gently grabbing her hands, "I am sure Fluer can handle her little sister for a while, she is almost about to graduate,"
"I don't know..." she slowly said while biting her lips in a very tempting way as her eyes looked alternatively between the hotel and me.
"Come on, Just for one coffee," I said with my best puppy eye, and considering my animagus form is a dog, it was a very irresistible face, "Besides I read somewhere that coffee helps settle your stomach,"
"That information definitely sounds shady," She said while looking at me skeptically. She hesitated for a few more moments before she threw her hands up with a small smile, "Alright! Fine! Just one coffee,"
I almost couldn't stop myself from jumping and whooping in triumph but I controlled myself at the last moment. I didn't want to come off as a desperate teenager, I still had to maintain my pride.
"After you, Mademoiselle," I said while holding the door and waving her into the hotel like a proper gentleman.
"Why, Thank you, Mr. White," She grinned while doing a little courtesy and came in. We messed around like that all the way to the lift, even the receptionist gave us stinky eyes. Probably Jealous.
When the door closed and we were alone inside the elevator, we kept catching the other one watching and then awkwardly looking away, and the entire time the only thing on my mind was that lift scene from Fifty Shades of Grey, but alas, the door opened very quickly. I sighed at the missed opportunity, before shaking my head and leading her toward my room.
"Welcome to my..." I started theatrically but came up blank and ended up with, " um... Hotel Room,"
"That was so lame," She snorted with mirth in her eyes, before she came close and rubbed my shoulder consolingly, "I feel sorry for you,"
"Ha Ha," I said with a loud fake laugh, "You are so funny,"
She rolled her eyes and went inside with a small grin while looking around the room. It was a standard 3-star hotel room, with a wide double bed and floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the right side giving a spectacular night view of the city. Only half the lights were lit giving the room a very ambiguous atmosphere
"When are you—" She started to say while turning around but found out that I closed the distance between us to just a couple of inches. She jolted a bit at the abruptness but didn't back away, and her blue eyes stared straight into my dark ones.
"I don't think I have coffee here," I said in a husky voice, my throat a bit dry while looking at those inviting plump red lips and her cute little nose.
"I figured as much," She whispered back sensuously, her melodious voice sounding like the temptation of the devil in my ears.
"Maybe I could make it up to you some other way," I said while closing in on her enough that every time I breathed her hair fluttered.
"In what way—"
