Japan Travel Blog Part 2
English: Sorry that it took a bit longer, but here comes Part 2 of the Japan Travel Blog! :D This weekend there will finally be a new black & blue update! <3 I'm currently working through everything that's been piling up and.... it's a lot 😭 Basically, the radio silence is still due to my trip, not because I've forgotten you or I'm lazing around. However, after the next update it should be smooth, regular sailing again with regular, lush comic updates. <3
But for now, here's part 2 of the Japan Travel Blog, with the general heading: Onward to Tokyo!
However, before we headed back to Tokyo, we had one of the - for me - most brilliant days in Japan ahead of us! We went by cable car via Ashigarashimo-Gun to Motohakone and Lake Ashi!
As some of you know, this is the area where "Neo-Tokyo" was built in Neon Genesis Evangelion. Therefore, you can marvel at a detailed Evangelion model in Motohakone Station! 🤩 One thing I particularly like about Japan is that they really understand manga and anime as CULTURE and celebrate them accordingly!
On our gondola ride to the lake, we were able to witness the volcanic activity of the area first hand. Finally, while looking at Mount Fuji, we ate a black egg cooked in volcanic soil, which is said to prolong life by 7 years! Well, I can't wait to find out! 🤣
Unser Abschied von Hakone war ziemlich... WINDIG.
Traditions! :D
Saying goodbye to Hakone was pretty... WINDY. There was a storm all night before we left for Tokyo in the morning. We had nabe in the evening, a kind of Japanese soup fondue, which I found super delicious! 🤩
Funny story by the way: On the way home, Kito accidentally hit me FULLY on the chin while gesticulating wildly. 😅 It was so hard that I bit my tongue badly and my jaw was sore for three days. I also almost fainted afterwards. 😅😅😅 But fainting in Japan is practically a tradition for me. I passed out on a bus that was too hot in 2017. Traditions! :D
XD
Our first day back in Tokyo, we first visited Akihabara. kito is a technology nerd and likes to repair broken things. He certainly found what he was looking for at Akihabara's cyberpunk-looking stalls! :D
Then in the evening we met up with a friend, celebrating her birthday and eating delicious cakes from a Japanese master baker! On our walk home, we marveled at the Christmas lights. To be honest, though, we didn't get into the Christmas spirit. It was just WAY too warm for that and the surroundings were too.... Japanese! XD

Next day was two-fold: Half otaku stuff (Namja Town with IDOLISH 7 food cooperation) and half touristy visit to the Tokyo Sky Tree!
I found the latter super cool, but Kito was REALLY scared up there! 🤣
I love y'all so much!
Eure MAUS!
The final days were then dedicated to strolling and shopping. :3 Eventually we flew back home via Greenland (!). Which is where I am now. Typing these lines!
Japan 2023 was BOMBASTIC! It was truly... so wonderfully beautiful! I feel like I KNOW what I want artistically again after this time. Where I want to go, how it should look... and so on! This vacation did me a world of good and got my creative juices flowing ( bah, that sounds gross, right? XDDD).
Anyway, we'll be back with new comic pages this weekend!Thank you for your endless patience and support! I love y'all so much!
Yours, MAUS!

I'm so glad you enjoy your trip and it was the right thing to get your art engine running again 😂 It sounds like it was an amazing trip, and I can't wait to visit there myself some day!
