For the stuff at the beginning of video, I think its a bit more than him being at the center of everything I don't think he necessarily views himself at the center of everything, more like he *wants* to be at the center of everything. He seems to exhibit both inferiority and superiority complexes which send him into a constant need for validation. Basically, "If I'm not the hero, then I'm worthless." This line of thinking coupled with the amount of stress he is subjected to causes the uglier side of his personality to show itself, desperately trying to keep Emilia by his side in their last moments of conversation by stressing a transactional view of their relationship in a last ditch attempt to salvage both his sense of self and their relationship. To ask of someone or expect their understanding of you when you don't even fully understand them is arrogant, and above all, truly slothful.

Alright, here I am again with some extra info and stuff. To explain what Willhelm meant... Basically you got it right, Subaru was like "oh I can just die and solve everything" after talking to Krush. Willhelm saw the change in behavior so he was like "ah I see, he doesn't really care anymore to get stronger, so it makes no sense to teach him". As for the narcissistic thing at the beginning of the video, remember during the mansion arc that I wrote a comment about the "IF stories" the author wrote? Well there are IF stories for all the sins where Subaru could have made the wrong choice and the story changed immensely. There is of course the Pride IF story, which kind of very well develops the whole narcissistic thing. You also said something interesting about Petelgeuse's being all over the place... is he sloth? does he hate sloth? What? It's a good observation and yeah, keep it in mind I guess, for the future.
