Yeah the subs for episode 2 were also a little odd, I remember denji’s comment about Aki’s balls getting attacked by a devil being a lot funnier in whichever sub I watched (crunchyroll sub I’m pretty sure).

The release he has contains CR subs with GJM timestamps (as seen at 00:01 in the PiP version) so it would be very easy to switch.

I love how doglike Denji is in this one. Aki withholding the apples to train him, and then Denji sniffing the apple slice before eating it. Great stuff. And yeah honestly upon rewatch this is one of my favorite episodes; it really contains a perfect balance of everything I love about it without feeling overstuffed and it's all so well storyboarded, directed, and animated.

The action scenes? Who cares? That Aki sequence of him doing literally nothing is still my favorite part of this entire adaptation. I am not joking, that is kino right there. Who the hell translated "Kon" to "Yipp"? The fuck man? A lot of subs this episode don't seem correct to me :\
