How can anyone hate Lycoris? It has some of the best banter voice acting I've ever heard. I really like that they recorded the dialog first together and then animated it, so the voice actors could improvise and talk normally with each other. Whether you like the story or the possible yuri overtones is personal preference but I don't know how it could be in the worst list. It was pretty interesting for anime only and I can't remember any fan service despite the cute girls with guns storyline. I'd love to hear his thoughts.

Just because a show doesn't effect you a certain way doesn't mean it can't/won't do so for another.

Well that's absurd. Consuming one thing doesn't make you want to consume the other. Arcane didn't make me wanna play LoL the same way Edgerunners didn't make me wanna play CyberPunk. Hopefully one day he does cuz Arcane its ridiculously good.

I also agree as someone who's played the game, but I wonder if the in-world jargon might be too confusing for someone who's approaching the show with only it as a framework of reference.

Having played the game it felt weird to experience the world in any other language. It just feels right for it to be in English

Summer Time Render is my best anime from 2022 so far. Vivy was a good show, worth it. Edgrunners didn't watched yet. Lycoris is in my top 3 worst anime of 2022 so.. Nah

VIVY is my bottom because although I know it will look stunning, it somehow never rose to the "watch now" peg, on the later-list. Lycoris is fun, will spark furious debate on political aspects of things presented , and interpersonal and psychological breakdowns for all involved. It struck me as an update to the Gunslinger Girl concept with a little Leverage sauce on top. Summertime Rendering is big-brain fun and felt like a happy love child of Higurashi and Re:Zero, a bizarre pairing to be sure but here IT WORKS. It is a shame a show this good hides behind the MouseHouse's insane region lock. (thank you 9anime). Edgerunners is top tier DUB gold and the only way to capture the OG TTRPG language the SUB fails. This is literally a TTRPG acted out like VoxMachina was in universe.
