Image To Unicode Processing
🕑 Added 2025-01-02 10:23:44 +0000 UTCHeeyyya guys!
Starting this year with something fresh and different from what we usually do in Houdini. This time we will build a procedural setup that processes an image to unicode symbols, and does that dynamically, so noise-driven resolution of grids (by the way, you can do as much of them as you'd like), will dynamically introduce more or less detail to our image. Also, this takes seconds to render haha.
P.S. Wrangle code in description of the video on YT.
Enjoy!

Hi Laura! It might look a bit different in terms of rendering, as Houdini Apprentice (free version) doesn't have redshift, but technically should be pretty much the same. I can swap the image to yours and send you a screenshot how it looks in my setup if you wish, just shoot me an img to nikita.meduha@gmail.com

Hi Nick! Just saw your Apple on Instagram and would love to recreate it with an image I have of water, but I'm a complete beginner to 3D. I downloaded Houdini (free version), and the project files, I was hoping to swap in my image and see if it would work, but the project file doesn't look the exact same as the tutorial, so I'm wondering if there's a piece I'm missing here? Thank you so much, love your work!
