Free Patron Post! Neri Reference (Spoilers!)
🕑 Added 2019-10-12 04:40:18 +0000 UTCHey there! So this is mostly a reference I'm making for myself to spec out our main character without any background lighting influences on their design. This'll be spoiler-ish heavy so if you wanna keep yourself with the blinders on, don't read ahead! ( I don't think it's too terribly spoiler-ish to know she gets wings at a point, you find any of my other images of her, she's wingy as heck.)
So Neri (named in a few chapters, she doesn't have a name right now) is based on an Allosaur and a hippo. She's got a big dense head that would tilt her right over based on earlier designs, so I had to balance out with some chonky hands and feet. The tail I might make bigger, it goes between being a long, ropy lizard tail and something straight and less flexible. She's meant to be big, but just like real hippos, meant to be pure muscle and stupid fast. If we loosely base her weight (if that even mattered in this case) she'd be abouuuut 3-4 tonnes.
Neri's wings are based on a black-capped Seagull, they're fast and big, and i know it's still impossible for a creature this size to fly about, but i'm doing my best attempt at a realism. I also originally had both wings with the yellow band on them, but i'll keep the one wing scarred/ different due to Raziel (the angel, he gets a name on page 17, I think)'s strike.
I basically needed a multipurpose design that'd be able to be somewhat agile without losing bulk. Something threatening and dopey at the same time. If you guys have any questions, let me know! I'll do my best to answer!
(this didn't end up being super spoiler-y, honestly, but I just feel bad spilling beans. Plus you can just read the book if you want ULTIMATE spoilers; it'll still be a fun ride regardless)

They are very huggable
Are they as huggable as they look?
Happy reference.
