So a lot of it is stuff the character doesn't know right now either that hasn't been explained. Assumeably they died and went to hell, though they don't remember who they were before dying, or why they were in hell. I assume you're talking about our main character as 'that demon" and they're just a mix of hippo and allosaurus as a design, but they're the result of escaping hell via giant ground demon . Basically we don't know because the character doesn't.

That demon said something about being in the underworld in the second chapter but it wasn't much to go on.
