Set up by a baby-orc (part 6)
🕑 Added 2025-01-26 15:30:01 +0000 UTCA/N: It is pure randomness that this week I had two exclusive stories with an ankle sprain, lol. Didn’t realize till I was editing this, sorry for that, but I found a good way to mix the two… Hope you like it. Enjoy!
Orc (Unax) x fem!reader || sfw, soulmates
It all happened so fast that he had no time to react. One second you were blushing and being all cute, and the next you were on the floor and smelling of pain. He was mostly angry at himself that he let his mate be hurt right in front of his nose. Good damn it. And on top of that, you were being stubborn about going to the hospital when he could smell perfectly that you were hurting. Fuck that.
“I’m not arguing. I’m taking you to the hospital,” he repeated, trying to get you to agree but not really taking a no for an answer. So he did what he did best, using more muscle than brain.
He grabbed you by the waist and threw you over his shoulder, hoisting his nephew with his free hand and carrying you both to his car. Another spark of anger rose inside of him, you weighted too little, even though you had all the curves and soft parts, he wanted you fuller. You’d need it if he was to breed you at some point.
But he wasn’t about to start going in that route when he had a mission in mind first: hospital. Then he could think about breeding you all he wanted. For practice mainly, he wasn’t sure he wanted babies, and didn’t even know if you’d like some either. But practice… filling you up… Fuck.
Focus, he reminded himself.
You were hurt, you needed medical attention, and he was going to be a good mate and prove himself. Even though you didn’t know shit about mates and he wasn’t about to break the news to you, not until you’d known each other for a bit more. He should ask you on a date first at least.
Goddess… His brother was right, having a human for a soulmate was a headache. He wouldn’t change you for anything in the world, you were perfect already, but it would be so much easier if you were also an orc and you smelled exactly how perfect for each other you were… So much easier…
“Where are we going, uncle?” His nephew asked as Unax fastened his seatbelt without letting you down just yet.
“To visit uncle Inar at the hospital, does that sound good?” He tried to smile for his nephew’s sake and thanked the goddess about him being too little to know what emotions smelled like because he was reeking anxiety and fear.
The baby orc screamed in joy as he helped you in the front seat, being very careful not to move your ankle too much. You still smelt like pain, and it was making it hard to think.
“I really don’t think is that bad,” you tried to explain again but he looked at you with a frown and you shut your mouth instantly. “Okay… Let’s go to the hospital, I guess,” you conceded, making him let out a relieved sight.
You arrived in record time, and he walked right to the new-born area of the hospital, making you raise an eyebrow at him. He ignored you and walked you to the desk.
“Hi, can you tell me where Inar Stormblood is?” He asked, his anxiety making him sound almost rudely. He would bring the nurses a batch of cookies next time he visited, so they’d forgive him, but right now he was in a hurry, with a hurt mate and a confused baby.
The nurse was not impressed. “He’s unavailable at the moment. He had to run to the ER because of… reasons.” He was getting annoyed at the half response.
“Page him, tell him his brother is here,” he urged the goblin nurse looking at you three with a raised eyebrow. “Please,” he added.
After a few more seconds of uncertainty, the nurse finally paged him. “He would be here in a few, but I bet he won’t be happy to see you,” the goblin said cryptically. Well, he didn’t care about it. He needed help with his mate and his brother was a nurse. He could help.
A few more minutes passed as you three waited and Unax got more and more anxious, the smell of your pain driving him insane.
“Uncle Inar!” His nephew screamed, jumping from his chair and running to hug his brother’s legs.
“What happened? Is he hurt?” Inar asked as soon as he picked up his nephew. Unax shook his head, signaling softly to his right, where you were looking at both of them with confusion. Yeah… He knew they looked very much alike.
“She tripped and fell and she smells of pain,” he explained between whispers. “I think she has a sprain and I didn’t know what to do,” Unax explained to an unimpressed Inar.
Inar stared at him for a few seconds, slowly blinking before breaking. “My mate was hurt and you called me here because of a fucking sprain?” Inar almost roared, lowering his tone when one of the nurses looked at him with a frown.
“Well, I didn’t know that and my mate is also hurt!” Unax argued back, pushing his finger against his brother’s chest and making him grow again. You were gaping at them, not sure what exactly was happening but wanting to crawl into the earth.
“Stop arguing or I’ll throw you both out,” the nurse said passing by.
“Ugh. I hate you,” Inar told him, making you giggle and making everything a bit better. “I’ll call the trauma doctor, but you owe me big time.”
“Anything you want, just make her stop smelling like pain,” he pleaded as you sighed.
A/N: Now, now… What would you like for it to happen next? A date? They share phone numbers and we get some awkward texting? Maybe some casual encounter someplace else? Let me know!
