The Hound

If you like Richard Dreyfuss you should watch Mr Holland’s Opus. I love watching your reactions

Glen Roberts

So many movies about aliens are negative. The emotion and joy at what we are seeing is from folks who love science and the universe. Its beautiful to see a movie where intelligence, curiosity and wonder replace the usual paranoia and fear that is depicted so often. ( Though I love any sci=fi movie that is well done. :) )

Michael Tuffin

I’m glad you did this version instead of the one where they show the ship’s interior at the close. This is the better cut.

Steven Hickman

François Truffaut the famous french director plays the french scientist.

2001 yes recently watched on channel as well as poltergeist !

Apparently, the aliens were built for 2001: A Space Odyssey but were not used. Have you seen 2001? Poltergeist was originally planned as a sequel but the script morphed over time from sci-fi to horror.

You said it perfectly… this movie is why we go to the movies… Dreyfuss was able to convince Spielberg to cast him when he pointed out that he “needed a child to play this role.” Spielberg instantly knew that Dreyfus was right and cast him on the spot.

Don Dunco

Melinda Dillon played Jillian. She's also passed on,but i didn't catch what year. She was 83 when she died. Also, she played Ralphie's mom in A Christmas Story.
