Displaced Hero - Chapters 115-117
🕑 Added 2025-12-23 02:44:43 +0000 UTCWhew! Just barely managed to get this one done on time. Which, well...I also produced a nearly 15k extra this month, so that's not exactly a surprise :-p. Anyway, the next batch of chapters for Displaced Hero are here! Also, Merry Christmas to all, if I don't poke my head in between now and the 25th ;-).
A special note about the chapters this time. Pay attention to the date markers.
A lot of what's going on in this set of chapters is happening at the same time, despite details being separated into different chapters. You should see what I mean when you read it, if you're paying attention. There are a lot of different perspectives present, as a way to show what each side is getting up to as things start to accelerate towards the Clone Wars. The end of these chapters brings things right up to 23 BBY. Originally, the Clone Wars would have started in 22 BBY, though in this fic they won't occur until 21 BBY due to the Hutt Crusade derailing things a bit and the Jedi being more proactive.
Honestly, I'm regretting more an more using the BBY dates, even if those were what I'm familiar with. It makes things a bit confusing, as they count down towards an event that's never even going to happen. I might have to look into converting the dates into the current system that Star Wars seems to be using.
Oh well.
Post image is an AI generation themed for the holiday ;-). As usual, the new stuff is attached here in various formats, and I'll be posting new Master Files in the Pinned Post shortly. I'll also put author's notes in the comments below when I have time.

The Great ReSynchronisation is also a possible calendar where the Republic standardised its Calendar which would put the Clone War as beginning in year 13 or 22BBY

For the replacement of BBY, I believe at this time the timeline was based on the Ruusan Reformation with the Clone Wars starting year of 22BBY being 978 ARR.

So, just did a re-read, and slightly confused about that ship guy. Isn't the Paladin Class a Battleship? Because he wouldn't have mentioned upgraded particle emitters if he didn't know.

More like creating the plot rather than inhibiting it :-p. I designed it to happen that way on purpose. Since 'Izuku goes to Coruscant and immediately outs Palpatine as a Sith, everyone lives happily ever after as the Republic slowly crumbles' doesn't make for a very compelling tale to tell.

A lot of this skulking about feels necessary, but then I remember the line about how Izuku would definitely feel a Sith if he was on the same world as them and I wish he had some reason to go to Coruscant. It's a little maddening that proper beauracracy is actively inhibiting the plot.

Glad you liked the chapters :-). As for the idea of Academy ships? They are a great idea during peace time. During wartime they are just a big target, unless you're capable of building them big and powerful enough. Even then, you'd probably be better off building the same ship as a pure combat model. I like the idea of them, but they probably aren't a great plan do implement in the middle of the upcoming war. Well, not unless they want to use them to hide in the middle of no where, I guess.

Thanks for the chapters! Are the Jedi going to start building Academy Ships instead of planetary academies? Cause that feels like what the Jedi would be pushed towards. You know me, I'm ALL for WarShips, XD

Chapter 115 A/N 1: All three Dark Acolyte potentials are actual characters from canon, even if we know little about them. Maser Zane is as well. A/N 2: Dooku! Haven't seen his perspective for a while, even if this one doesn't tell us much of what he's been up too... A/N 3: Some hints about things that might be a little different with the Clones, due to there being a bit more time before the Clone Wars than there would have been... A/N 4: The Shock Drum was a Republic superweapon featured in The Old Republic game.
