🕑 Added 2025-11-16 02:11:21 +0000 UTCRight! Well you certainly shouldn't forget about the Stripper With a System Companion Poll I posted earlier today, it is also the mid-month release day for Halfway Broken!
A pair of special notes about this particular chapter set. First, I've taken liberties with Little East Blue. As in, if you went and watched those tie-in episodes for the movie, much of it doesn't properly match with the details of my version. Since it was non-canon anime-only filler, I don't feel the least bit guilty having hijacked a few bits of it to build on Kuina, Sanji, and Kaya's backstories and upgrade possibilities. This is just letting you know that, those few of you who are familiar with how Little East Blue was supposed to be, should expect it not to match entirely.
The second special note is that, once they move on from Little East Blue, the next island is another of my originals. Wind's Home and the Crystal City went well enough that I'm going to do a few such, though not all in a row. Once we get through the plot of this next original island, we'll move on to a Time Skip island. Them, most likely, to another island from the filler content. Original Islands are only being used to pad out places for them to visit during the time skip, since I'm covering more of it. I hope to keep them all up to a similar quality as Wind's Home/Crystal City was, of which a lot of people commented that I'd managed an island that fit right in and felt like it belonged in One Piece :-).
Right! With those special notes out of the way...this new set of chapters is right around 9,400 words. Which, with the 5,800 from the set released on the 1st, brings the word count up above the 15k target for the month :-)! As usual, the new stuff is attached here in various formats, and I'll be posting new Master Files in the Pinned Post. I'll also put author's notes in the comments below when I have time. Enjoy the new chapters of Halfway Broken!

I'm glad you liked the expansions of backstories :-). Doing that sort of thing is often a bit of mixed bag when there is so little known about the characters in question. Thankfully, so far people seem to like the results.

I'm really happy with the expansion of the backstories of Kuina and Kaya (and curious to see what they will gain), and I simply adore the Hina×Sanji×Perona ship that is building! The start of the second original island shows a lot of promise and I'm really curious of how it will go! Thanks for the amazing chapters!!

Strawberry isn't really wounded, six weeks is enough for him to be mostly back in top form, he's just a little sore still. Luffy or Yamato would likely trounce him, Kuina or Zoro might struggle a bit, though.

Well this is as good a reason as any for Hina's tic to finally be cured, or to start working on fixing it. I'm also guessing that a wounded Strawberry won't even be a challenge for the 4 strongest combatants of the crew, so maybe one of the next 4 (Nojiko, Nami, Hina, Sanji) will get a shot to show off. Tyftc Novus!
