April Preview Time!
🕑 Added 2021-03-31 23:59:17 +0000 UTCI know April starts in like 4 hours here, but March was a rough one (but we did get out all of the March packages so that's a relief!). I didn't even realize tomorrow was April 1 until someone asked me if I was sending an early April Fools Day prank. I promise you, there will be none here. :)
So let's look at the April package and show off a few things.
First up is more Lightyear. With the second month of content you will be able to start mixing and matching things, making for a few variable setups. By month 3 that starts to grow even more and eventually becomes a big little game.
The enemies this time are a little nastier than last month. There's the Infected Trader and the Eonic Drifter. Here's a peek.
And there's a new event to mix things up as well.
At the $10+ levels we see the two mini Agropolis expansions, Invasion and Points of Interest, as well as a very mini Circle The Wagons expansion (it's just a single card), Wildest West. This is one new scoring card to add into your games, with a new combination of icons on the backside. It's been around for years as a PNP, but we wanted to toss it into the packages as a fun physical item. We've also never expanded Circle The Wagons outside of the solo expansions, so it's neat to finally do it.
The last item in $10+ is (Almost) Blank White cards. This is one of those 2016 era BGOTMC things sneaking it's way into 2021. It's not really a game, but it could be! It's just 4 cards with sectioning on them, and some inspiration on the backside. Designers could use them as a nudge to get a game idea going. Kids could use them to create a custom card for their favorite game. If you aren't a designer or a parent, they may be a complete disconnect, but I think there enough designers and parents out there that it was worth trying out. Please let us know if these do work out though. Not because we'd be including them in the future, but more because we want to see how an oddball deviation goes over. It's been a long time since we've had a non-game included, but as a rarity it *may* be fun.
And at $20 we have Agropolis (with the Combopolis expansion). It's the standalone sequel to Sprawlopolis and it's super good. We cant wait to get it out to you.
I'm assuming everyone knows Sprawlopolis, but I might be wrong. If you don't, let us know!

I also got Combopolis! I previously had Sprawlopolis and Agropolis as PnPs....but to match the new cards I had to buy them in physical form now, hahaha.

It was either in March or April that the USPS wrapped up my envelope from you with an apology, saying that it had come open and things may have been missing or damage may have occurred. All I received in what was left of the envelope was an alpha sector card, with Kargesa Station on the back side. Should there have been anything else in the envelope? Thanks

Billing is on the first of the month so you don't show up as an active member to the creator until that point. So you will not get the second month content if you weren't active on 4/1. I could be misunderstanding, though, because how could you have gotten the first month content if you were not already a patron?

Honestly I have never been able to figure out this system at all! I’ve got duplicate games already, have backed Kickstarter’s at the $1 level and then realised if I just waited for BGOTM I’d get the game anyway! I’m hoping the $20 BGOTM just means I will get every wallet game released - that’s what I really care about.

1. See below 2. Invasion/Points of Interest was added for free right at the end of the campaign for all pledge levels, so you will get it twice - sorry. We can't switch out the content of the packages except the wallet game.

Sorry for the confusion here. This is a preview so you know what's coming in April, not the choose your games post which is where you can comment with your game choice if you don't want Agropolis. Look out for that around the middle of the month.

Thank you... 1) Circle The Wagons & expansions ... instead of Agropolis please. I joined BGOTMC as $20 Patreon after KS All-Opolis pledge. 2) Question: The Agropolis expansion wasn't mentioned in KS, Only the Combopolis & Sprawlopolis expansions were in KS All-opolis pledge. Just to confirm, the Agropolis expansion is not included in the KS All-opolis pledge is it? It seems new. Is that the case? If it was a part of the KS All-opolis pledge, can I choose another card instead?

It sounds like, from the Agropolis Kickstarter updates, that due to the overwhelming number of backers it will take them 4-6 weeks from this point to fulfill all the pledges. There were delays getting the materials in.

I'm in the same bucket (though I preordered all Agropolis content on the store instead). I'd gladly trade the April Agropolis expansions for the March Final Lightyear Beta sector kit I missed. But I understand that would be a pain to handle logistically. Hopefully they have enough extra to buy one.

You will get the starter package in or around the same time as your first package. The prior months that you may have missed should be available to purchase once we see how many we have left each month. For $20 level we will ask if you want to swap your games in a specific post.

For all you new members, I think I answered my question above by looking back through my emails. Button Shy will do a new update about half-way through the month, asking us if we want Agropolis or another game. We will reply to that post. They will be sending us all prior stuff for the Final Light Year with our first package. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Final Lightyear does look fun. I’m looking forward to Agropolis, course that’s because I KickStarted it before I became a Patreon. So just want to confirm that we’ll get a chance later to pick something else?
