Against everything your body and mind tell you, you struggle to ask for help.
Your intention was to get the attention of your friend, but a grin materializes before you. "Help you say? Now, now, you can't be asking for more when you have so little to give."
He prances around you, his paws barely touching your treasure. He looks down at you, caught between a conversation with him and your desire to keep digging at the gold. He drifts closer to you and grabs your neck and pulls down a zipper that suddenly forms. He pulls it down to reveal an almost hollow inside and pulls out a small pearl-like object. As he does so, you feel a sudden lurch in your chest. He zips you up, the zipper disappearing as it returns to your neck. He slips the pearl into his ear.
"Now, I take my leave. I'm eager to watch what you will become. Dogs chase their tails not knowing it is theirs. I wonder what you will chase."
You feel a part of you start to break off as the remnants of your lynx self have been stolen from you. Your toes merge into three and your claws extend outwards. Your soft, fluffy tail grows rough with scales. You feel yourself becoming whole once more. Your memories of what species you once were fade into a distant thought. You spin around to look at your friend, who's stepping back in fear of what you are becoming. Your eyes fill with greed as you spot something in his pockets. You dive for them; they must be filled with gold that he's trying to take from you.
"S-s-stop!" he yells out, struggling to push you off him, "S-snap out of it!"
You tear at his clothing, his pockets ripping apart to reveal nothing more than scraps of useless junk. He yelps, kicking you off him and picking himself up. He dashes for the opposite side of the room.

> Chase after the thief.
