You smash your hand into the table and the bunny jumps. He comes running over, "W-what?!"
You stand up, not intent on falling asleep just yet. Though you feel your surroundings are safe enough to do so, you know somewhere else would be the right move. You look back at the table and pick a note that you are able to read.
At the top in blood red ink: 'NOTICE.'
'All subjects of Thawrnwood must evacuate their lodgings beneath the 150m mark. Subjects are to move to higher levels and wait for the king's knights. Under no circumstances are you to return below until otherwise stated.'
You hand the piece of parchment over to the bunny and you both gaze at each other. Nowhere on it does it say why. Perhaps the gas that seems to fill the lower floors is the reason but you are unsure. You scan the room and it does indeed everyone left in some sort of a rush, personal items, clothes, a pot above the fire with the food burnt to coals. While your eyes peer into the darkness, you notice what seems to be another door behind the beds and bags. This door seems to be much smaller, a bit more.. your height. You yank another unlit torch off the wall and share the warmth from your torch.
