You pull out the pocketwatch and she pauses.
She turns and looks at the little artifact. You hold it up and she takes the pocketwatch and balances it in her hand. She lets go and it hovers in the air, glowing slightly. She mutters something before it drops back down into her palm.
"This thing.." she hesitates, "it is pulled towards a different world."
She looks at you, "This thing is beyond my comprehension. It does indeed take you to the rift between our worlds but what it really is pointing at is in your world, not mine. However, it seems to only point in one direction regardless of how many other fractures there are between our worlds. Perhaps.." she squints her eyes, "it points to something that can take you from one reality to another."
She hands you back your pocketwatch and you stare at it as you jog alongside her.
She brings the both of you towards the sound of flowing water. You hear the sounds of forest life returning: an owl hooting, the sounds of crickets, wind blowing through the leaves. You watch as the fog thins and the three of you emerge into an clearing. You see a river flowing beside you and you look up into the night sky. You try your best to locate where you are and spot the castle. It's close though, you see that you are behind the castle now.
She turns to face you, "This is as far as I will take you, what lies beyond here is none of my concern."
You both thank her as she turns back and heads into the forest. You look back in front of you and see a divergent path once again. You peer down at the pocketwatch and it points back into the woods. You are not interested in tracing your steps, especially now that you are alone.

Why not navigate the cemetery? The pumpkin patch seems like a quick way to lose a life. We could probably navigate the edges to the other side.
