You decide to follow your compass no matter the cost.
You adjust your clothing, opting to at least cover your tenting to the best of your ability. You peek around the corner and book it at the right moment. The pocketwatch is now the size of your hand and you struggle to keep it balanced. You keep an eye on the watch as you sprint around corners, hoping at some point your destination is near. Suddenly, the minute hand snaps back the way you just came. It's close; you feel the presence of something unnatural. You hurriedly turn around but see a drone before you.
It lunges at you, its stubby hands outstretched. You duck, utilizing your new-found height to avoid contact. It quickly bounces back and you hear it squeaking as its limbs twist around. You duck underneath a wagon and crawl around in hopes of losing the drone. You stand up to see two more running towards you. It seems that, though featureless and mute, the drones have some sort of telepathic communication. You glance at your watch to see the minute hand locked onto a tarp. It looks like someone clumsy put it over something. A light emanate from behind the tarp and you see a couple of buttons on the side. You realize that it's an elevator.
> Dive for the elevator.
> Try to lose the oncoming drones.
> Stall for time.

I had a silly thought while asleep: If riding the elevator can undo the mask transformation, and assuming the drones are (recently) transformed guests, maybe they'd transform back if they were along for the ride. This being a major decision could also be a hint that multiple choices aren't immediate dead ends. It seems unsafe to stall further though (where's that third drone now?) and I think we could run out of time taking a detour, so I still say go for the elevator and we'll see if one of them makes it in alongside us.
