the only one i know for sure is Requiem of the Rose King is based on shakespeare and then i think Snow White with the Red Hair is loosely based on the fairy tale but idk how connected i swear they just chose the name shirayuki lmao but i could be completely wrong

Haven’t watched the video yet, but I had a random question that I’ll forget if I don’t ask it: Have you watched any anime based on classic Western literature? Like the new “Anne Shirley” series, or any of the “World Masterpiece Theater” shows from like a hundred years ago? Or maybe those unhinged adaptations Gonzo was making in the mid-2000s, like “Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo” and “Romeo × Juliet”? Just wondering if you have any favorites. “Gankutsuou”, by the way, is surprisingly queer-focused for an anime from 2004 that’s based on a novel from the 1800s that’s now set in the year 5053. 😂

LOL I felt the Oushi in yubiren comment so hard. I actually didnt watch the anime just read the manga for a few chapters, dropped it because and I *knew* I would not like the main couple but Oushi is a gem
