Chapter 119: A Thousand Miles to Deliver a Head!
🕑 Added 2024-06-03 17:11:25 +0000 UTCTime flows silently in the depths of the universe, in the western part of the East Galaxy, countless light-years away from Red Mountain Planet.
The eerie void was suffocatingly quiet. Aside from the distant, ever-burning stars, only a few stray celestial bodies wandered aimlessly, their orbits disrupted, doomed to oblivion in the void.
This was a chaotic region. At this moment, in a star system radiating a dark red glow, a massive war was raging on an orange-yellow planet.
It was a war of resistance against foreign invasion, a counter-aggression battle fought by the planet's native civilization. These indigenous people, originally divided into different factions on their planet, had united to fend off the alien invaders when faced with a common enemy.
The battlefield was in a deadlock. Warriors from both sides faced off, the natives in red armor clashing with the space pirates in dark gray spiked armor. As the war dragged on, the red and gray forces mingled, two torrents merging into one unstoppable flood, surging with unmatched ferocity, inseparable in the chaos.
The indigenous civilization was clearly at a disadvantage. The space pirates wielded energy cannons, bright crystalline energy beams continuously fired from the generators on their arms.
Sand and rocks flew, and the heat waves were suffocating. Explosions echoed incessantly, ruthless energy beams crisscrossing the battlefield, toppling massive war fortresses standing four to five meters tall.
War is a colossal machine that crushes life, mercilessly devouring living beings. Amidst the beastly roars and relentless destruction, everything seemed doomed. As the war raged on, scores of fighters fell, stepping over the bodies of their comrades and enemies, the battle growing increasingly brutal.
The sounds of cannon fire and agonized screams reverberated, audible even from ten thousand meters in the sky, where the desperate cries of warriors fighting for their lives could be heard.
Neither side noticed that as they fought fiercely, a dozen figures were observing them closely from the high altitude.
These observers wore dark red battle suits with black trim, each sporting a tail. The new battle suits, made with the latest technology, were highly flexible and elegant, with a black base and a dark red sheen, giving them a noble appearance.
One of the broad, rugged figures among them stroked his chin, chuckling wickedly, "Isaac, those people down there are so weak. I don't even feel like bothering with them!"
"Come on, if you don't want to take action, we're more than happy to do it for you!" teased a sharp-looking figure nearby.
"No, no, I was just joking. After all, if I don't get to fight after receiving a mission, my bones would rust," the broad and rugged figure replied, waving his hands and grinning sheepishly.
The group of Saiyans had finally received an external combat mission, and there was no way they would let others take this opportunity from them.
"But seriously, our combat power has increased so rapidly these past two years. Look, I used to be just a low-level warrior, and now my power level is over five thousand. If we were still on Planet Vegeta, even the elite warriors wouldn't dare underestimate me!" one of the Saiyans remarked.
"How can the era of Planet Vegeta compare to our Red Mountain Planet? Do you know, we now have nearly 200 elite warriors with power levels exceeding 10,000! Oh... actually, we should call them elite warriors now," another Saiyan added.
"Indeed. Although we have fewer Saiyans on Red Mountain Planet, each of us is a top-tier fighter. Our high-level combat power far surpasses that of Planet Vegeta."
"I heard Mr. Adriel and Mr. Belruk have already broken through a power level of fifty thousand. It's only a matter of time before Red Mountain Planet sees the birth of a new Super Warrior. Wow, just thinking about it, our Saiyan strength has become so formidable!"
The battle suits of ordinary warriors on Red Mountain Planet were red and black, with only a few leaders like Xavier wearing silver suits, symbolizing Super Warriors.
"You know, when the number of Saiyans on Red Mountain Planet increases, shouldn't we call Lord Xavier the Red Mountain King?" the broad and rugged Saiyan joked.
"Red Mountain King sounds awful. I think we should call him King Xavier!" another Saiyan immediately retorted.
"When we were on Planet Vegeta, the leader of the Saiyans was called King Vegeta. Now on Red Mountain Planet, it should naturally be Red Mountain King!"
"Heh, how can King Vegeta be compared to Lord Xavier..."
At this point, an older Saiyan, unable to listen any longer, said, "Actually, King Vegeta was very dedicated to the Saiyans. It's just that the Saiyan strength was indeed a bit lacking back then."
Which is why they were destroyed by Frieza!
At this mention, all the Saiyans fell silent. They were fortunate to have been transferred to Red Mountain Planet, thanks to Lord Xavier's help. When the Saiyan power grows strong enough to challenge Frieza's forces, they will surely launch a counterattack.
"Alright, alright, why think so much? Let's focus on completing the task at hand. Missions are quite scarce these days, and since we've got one, we must complete it properly. Otherwise, we might not get another chance next time," one of the Saiyans pointed out, reflecting the current situation. To ensure they could get missions in the future, they couldn't afford any negligence.
"The people on Dobor Planet are currently under attack by space pirates. Our mission is to help the Doborians repel the invaders and, preferably, annihilate the space pirates entirely!"
"The mission specifically states to minimize destruction and reduce the killing of life on the planet. This seems to be related to some merit issue. Anyway, just keep it in mind..."
Given that the Saiyans are a warrior race, once they engage in combat, large-scale casualties are inevitable. Therefore, Xavier didn't strictly prohibit large-scale destruction in the mission, as long as it was kept within reasonable limits.
The dozen Saiyans were all raring to go, eagerly anticipating the fight. Although the space pirates below were not very strong, making the battle less than thrilling, even a small fight was better than none, and they didn't want to miss any chance to engage.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the East Galaxy, a luxurious spaceship was heading toward Red Mountain Planet, having departed from the center of the galaxy.
"Brother Ditongjia, we are only nine days away from the Saiyans' Red Mountain Planet!" a green-haired alien in the cockpit reported, monitoring the controls.
"Hahaha, we’re almost there. After traveling for half a year, let's see what those barbaric Saiyans have left!" boomed Ditongjia, the leader of the five-man escort team.
To teach the Saiyans a lesson for intruding into the Galactic Patrol headquarters, Ditongjia had traveled a long way from the center of the galaxy. He prided himself on upholding the Galactic Patrol's dignity.
"Brother, I heard that while the Saiyans had a notorious reputation in the North Galaxy, they were also quite powerful," commented Visha, one of the team members.
"Visha, that's all in the past. Since their planet's destruction, what could they have left? With our power levels, even if the Saiyans were at their peak, we could still retreat unscathed, let alone now..." another team member, Jack, mocked.
Each member of Ditongjia’s escort team had a power level above 10,000, so they spoke with supreme confidence.
"Hahaha, Jack is right. There's nothing to fear from the little Saiyans. We can easily suppress them! However, since they are now allies of the Galactic Patrol, we should show a bit of courtesy," Ditongjia laughed heartily.
...
Nine days later.
A serene, azure scene unfolded before them. A cyan planet and an icy blue planet orbited each other, gliding quietly along a narrow path like two radiant jewels, emitting a soft, glowing light...
