Chapter 104: The Gap is Too Wide
🕑 Added 2024-05-29 14:25:46 +0000 UTC"Stay calm, now is not the time to act recklessly!" Xavier silently warned himself.
Frieza usually maintains a base power level of 530,000 because he cannot control his energy well. However, Cooler maintains a form similar to Frieza's ultimate form at all times, which suggests that Cooler's power is far more terrifying than Frieza's.
At least for now, Frieza cannot compare to his elder brother Cooler.
This is partly because Cooler is older than Frieza, as evidenced by his ultimate form showing much more maturity. In the Frost Demon race, Frieza is still considered young.
Therefore, Xavier was even more wary of Cooler.
He knew the vast power difference between himself and Cooler, and even if he used his abilities to the fullest, he probably couldn't last long!
"Interesting!"
Looking at the figure standing not far away, a flash of surprise crossed Cooler's eyes. A cruel smile formed on his lips as he turned to Oros and said, "Check that kid's power level!"
Oros responded and signaled to the subordinate beside him to use a large-scale detector. At this point, the standard scouter glasses were no longer effective.
After a series of beeps, the results quickly appeared on the detector. Oros's pale golden eyes widened in disbelief as he exclaimed, "Impossible, this guy's power level is actually 161,000!"
No wonder Oros was so shocked; Xavier's power level was astonishing. 160,000 was significantly higher than that of the former members of the Mecha Squadron.
"Oh, so it's possible that he really did kill Shaviza and the others?"
Cooler rubbed his chin, whispering softly, his eyes glinting with a sharp light, revealing nothing of his thoughts. Suddenly, Cooler smiled, his purple tail slapping the ground, sending a cold aura toward Xavier's direction.
"Hehe, your power is quite impressive. I wonder if it was you who destroyed my Mecha Squadron?" Cooler asked casually, his eyes narrowed.
"That's right, I killed the members of the Mecha Squadron," Xavier admitted straightforwardly, his guard up to the extreme.
"Smack!"
The tail behind Cooler struck the ground, instantly shattering the hard rock into pieces.
Oros sneered on the side, thinking that Cooler must be extremely angry. Hmph, this foolish human had dared to anger Lord Cooler, not knowing his own doom!
"Hehe, to be honest, I'm tempted to recruit you. How about it? As compensation for destroying my Mecha Squadron, you can join me and become my subordinate," came a cold and deep voice. At the same time, a powerful pressure surged forward.
Standing in the eye of the storm, Xavier frowned and stumbled slightly. The ground beneath him began to shake violently without him realizing it. At this moment, he was terrified, gaining a clearer understanding of Cooler's might!
Cooler was slightly surprised that Xavier could withstand his oppressive aura, but the surrounding aliens suffered. Even though they were only affected by the residual pressure of Cooler's aura, it felt like a heavy hammer had struck their chests. They immediately struggled to breathe, their minds in turmoil.
"Coercing others into becoming your subordinates is hardly honorable," Xavier shook his head, clearly rejecting the offer.
"…"
A few seconds later, Cooler licked his lips and sighed regretfully, "Alright, you've angered me. No matter how powerful you are, I've decided to obliterate you!"
The bloodthirsty killing intent was terrifying.
"So, it comes to a fight after all…"
Xavier sighed softly. At this point, words were useless. He readied himself, fully alert against the unbelievably powerful Cooler. He couldn't afford any carelessness.
His spatial abilities were prepared. The moment he found a gap where the space was no longer solidified, he was ready to escape. Simultaneously, his time abilities were primed, ready to provide support.
"Ha!"
A divine glow burst forth in the stillness.
Xavier's emotions surged as he launched his first attack. His form vanished like a ghost, unleashing all his power without any unnecessary pretense, striking directly at Cooler.
Cooler clicked his tongue, his eyes subtly shifting as he scanned the surroundings, catching every detail of Xavier's movements.
Bang!
With his time abilities, Xavier zipped in front of Cooler, delivering a powerful punch aimed at Cooler's chest. Just as the blow was about to land, a hard claw gripped his wrist firmly.
What speed! Xavier's heart tightened. His first attack had failed, and he immediately tried to retreat using his power. But it was too late; Cooler snorted, and with a tremendous force from his claw, flung Xavier away.
Instantly, like a cannonball, Xavier shot through the sky, quickly becoming a tiny black dot.
"Stop!"
Xavier was horrified, trying to halt his momentum, but Cooler's immense strength was unstoppable. Left with no choice, Xavier activated his abilities, freezing the surrounding space. It was as if a giant net had caught him, slowing his rapid flight.
"Swish!" Xavier steadied himself, cautiously surveying his surroundings, his eyes darting in all directions. Suddenly, he sensed a bloody aura approaching.
He turned warily, only to find Cooler had somehow appeared behind him.
"Oh, kid, you’ve got some skills. You’re really making me want to recruit you. I'll give you one more chance: will you join me and become my subordinate?" Cooler extended the olive branch once more.
"…"
His response was a calm gaze.
After a moment of silence, Cooler felt his pride wounded. His face darkened, his crimson eyes more malevolent. The icy, cruel aura intensified, "Fine, fine. Someone with your backbone is not to my liking. It's better to eliminate you quickly!"
As his words fell, a bone-chilling wind swept through, and everything fell silent.
The sky darkened suddenly, the clouds vanished, and a gloomy atmosphere filled with oppression.
Below, Cooler’s followers were all trembling. Oros looked up, a cold smile on his lips. This foolish boy had finally angered Lord Cooler, which was for the best. He didn't want another follower by Cooler's side anyway.
Especially considering that the opponent appeared particularly young.
A gentle breeze swept through, lifting sand and dust, making dead leaves dance in the air. Suddenly, the gentle breeze turned into a violent storm, transforming the silent battlefield into an apocalyptic scene, shrouded in a terrifying dread.
Xavier and Cooler moved simultaneously.
With the enhancement of his time abilities, Xavier's body accelerated wildly. Although Xavier's strength couldn't match Cooler's and was not even in the same league, and his speed was far behind Cooler's rhythm, there is a saying: "In martial arts, speed is invincible!" Speed is a crucial factor in combat. In every brief exchange, Xavier used a bit of his time abilities. However, the vast gap between them was not something abilities could bridge. Xavier was at a significant disadvantage, while Cooler remained composed, his breathing steady and unchanged.
"..." Watching from afar, Oros was utterly numb. From the beginning of the fight, he had been in a state of shock, unable to react. Cooler's immense power was expected, but he hadn't anticipated that this seemingly unknown guy would be so fast and even manage to tangle with Cooler for several moves!
It left him both amazed and fearful, but thankfully... Lord Cooler still had the upper hand!
"The gap is just too wide."
His throat felt bitter as his strength waned. Xavier realized Cooler was playing a cat-and-mouse game, not taking him seriously and only using a fraction of his power. In contrast, Xavier had given his all, causing his heart to sink. "Are all the so-called strong ones this aloof? Zarbon was, and Cooler is too..."
