As for this episode, I felt it managed to pick up the pieces from the last episode which was much needed. This felt more of Simon coming to terms with his relationship with Betty and how it was in actuality with her always sticking by him and not considering her which is the connection with the Casper’s journey. Then this also connects to the Fionna and Cake universe plot line as scrabby is out to fight but with the help of Simon and Prismo, they cure the world and now make it a canon multiverse which now has scrabby with Prismo. Then we have a great montage of the world and characters as they are rebuilding the city, dealing with housing, and Simon finding himself through all of this. This isn’t a crazy resolution as maybe the presence of golb fixing and ending things isn’t the greatest but it still makes for a snug fit. The last two eps lost some of the greatness and steam the 8eps established but it still feels satisfying. 8-7.5/10

Near perfection eps 1-8. But yes it was incredible! I loved the overall tone of it all. So good. Wonder what S2 brings

It is a bit sad that the last 2 episodes weren’t as good as the middle episodes but I’m still happy with what we got! The show may have a few bumps but overall it’s a really good spinoff for adventure time. Cant wait for season 2

I would as well. I feel the main thing was for him overcoming his past, outcast self, and reliance on Betty which he’s made the proper realization. And he’s in therapy which is great. I would hope to see him maybe start to participate in the modern Ooo and as you say, explore this version of the world. Or explore more of how Jake died. Uhhh there so much with the mushroom war, lich backstory/upbringing. Uhhhh 😂.

If Simon's ends story here I'd be satisfied but I will always want more Simon maybe him talking to marceline about what he went through also maybe season 2 will focus more on fionna world because I feel like that universe feels a bit unexplored

Agree. It would still feel okay if it ended here but with S2 announced and maybe more, it can easily dive into other places the original show wasn’t allowed to go into

Whilst the finale does let the show down a bit, it would be a lot worse if this was a series finale and not a season finale so at least now that the adventure time now they can get more seasons maybe the true finale will feel a lot better

And now you realise whilst the show is called fionna and cake we all know who the real main character of season 1 is.
