Backing away from him, I made it just one step before a rough pair of hands clapped down on my shoulders with only a thin layer of black fabric separating me from exposure all over again.
“I’m surprised to see you down here.”
Lucas was looking me up and down as if x-ray vision was reminding him of what he did to me.
“No one here is more surprised than me.”
“You might be wrong about that once we step inside the courtroom.”

My protest was cut off before I could even finish my thought as the unnamed henchman behind me pushed me forward, and I was too exhausted to even wiggle out of his grasp. The large set of double doors had opened in front of us, and the three of us walked inside as if any of this was normal. I was wearing nothing but shoes, socks, my tie, and a stolen judge’s robe, and Lucas was somehow entering through the gallery when he should be with a bailiff in the hallway behind the courthouse.
Judge Templeton was delayed, so he wouldn’t even know that anything was amiss with the man on trial, but there would be no way for me to avoid scrutiny once he arrived. The only upside here with this being a high-profile case was that there were no observers aside from those connected to the trial or media allowed for sentencing, and I didn’t turn around to see what the small group of people seated behind me were thinking. I wouldn’t be able to explain it, and they wouldn’t be able to process the truth anyway.
“All rise!”
The bailiff had avoided looking my way either, and I think that’s because he had probably been searching for Lucas this whole time. Now that he was here, he was home free, and I was jealous of whatever relief was washing over him. I turned to see the judge walking through the back door of the courtroom, but instead of the judge that had presided over the trial, a new judge was here.
A new judge that both terrified me and turned me on.
Judge Templeton was a man pushing seventy, who had his eyes set on the horizon of the boat that was docked a few miles from his house. This man, Judge Reinhardt, was in his early forties, and his eyes were usually set on the largest set of dumbbells at his gym. And right now, me. His eyes were also laser focused on me.
“You may be seated.”
Looking over at Lucas, I saw a faint hint of worry clouding his face for the first time, and that gave me a small boost before it all came crashing down.
“Counsel, will you please explain your attire?”
I had a choice to make. If I explained what Lucas had done, then I would be admitting that he was not in proper custody before the trial. It shouldn’t be a possibility, but I had to worry that Lucas would somehow argue that the mismanagement of his incarceration warranted a mistrial. There was almost no way for this to happen, but I couldn’t chance it.
“I, uh, sorry, your honor. I spilled my coffee this morning, and a friend offered me this cover up.”
“Mr. Alexander, I am sorry about the loss of your coffee, but both of us cannot be wearing the same outfit here. You will need to remove that robe.”
“Your honor, I would ask to talk about this issue privately.”
“Motion denied. If you want this sentencing to proceed, then you will remove that robe before we can continue.”
There it was- the ultimatum that I had been trying to avoid. I wanted to shrink into the shadows, but I had been thrust into the spotlight. Looking at Lucas, I saw that smirk on his face again, and I couldn’t let him win. No matter how bad this was about to be.
“Yes, your honor.”
Standing up on trembling legs, I reached for the zipper of the robe and pulled it down before my brain could stop my hands from moving. With one motion, the robe slipped over my shoulders and landed in a puddle at my feet. The judge’s jaw dropped, and the small crowd behind me went wild, and it took almost a dozen bangs of his gavel to silence them.
“Order! Order in my courtroom!” He was red in the face as he yelled, but my face was practically ablaze compared to him. The chill of the air conditioning couldn’t handle the blush that had spread across my cheeks, and I stood completely motionless to keep anyone from behind me from getting a full 360 view.
I was naked. Completely and totally naked.
“Since I obviously need to address the decisions of Mr. Everhold’s counsel after we adjourn, I am going to make this short. The evidence presented in Mr. Everhold’s case was concrete and also heinous. While the district attorney’s office asked for a sentencing of twenty years, I do not think that that is enough. I am hereby sentencing Lucas Everhold to the maximum sentence of thirty years, and the past month that he has spent in jail will be subtracted from that total.”
After all that had happened to me today, I somehow was still be able to be shocked, but Lucas was obviously taken aback more. That boat in Templeton’s name had probably been partially paid for with whatever bribe that Lucas had given him, but this new judge wasn’t having any of it. I’d heard rumors that he had his eye set on a district court seat, and he clearly wanted his name attached to this ruling.
“Counsel, please approach the bench, and court is adjourned.”
Finally, the bailiff did his job, slapping a pair of handcuffs on Lucas’s wrist right before he could attack me. The other lawyers approached me, trying to get any information to explain my current wardrobe, but I couldn’t speak. My eyes were still on Judge Reinhardt’s handsome face, and a stirring below my waist was the only way that I could finally look away.
As I tried to come up with an exit strategy, Lucas’s henchman earned the last bit of his paycheck by grabbing me by the hand and yanking me towards the back of the room.
“Sir, unhand him!”
Pandemonium had erupted, and the people in the chairs behind me were now confirming for themselves that I was truly naked except for the tie around my neck. My feet couldn’t find traction beneath me, and my assailant was too strong for anyone else to stop even if they tried. They just watched as I was pushed closer to the doors leading out to the very busy lobby.
“Stop- somebody stop him!”
It was too late though- with just one hand, he held onto me as he used the other one to push open the door. Hundreds of people were outside, gasping and pointing their phones at me to record my shame as soon as they were able to process what they were seeing.
Holding onto my tie to keep me from making a run for it, it was as if this man had one goal in mind- to humiliate me as much as possible.
Now that he knew that he could control me with just one powerful arm, he used his other hand to mess with my cock which had grown to half mast even though I willed it not to happen. I was being seen and recorded from every angle, and my dick was like an arrow, pointing everyone’s attention towards me.
I saw familiar faces and coworkers, and they saw me in a way that they would never be able to forget. A few men tried to intervene, but this wasn’t stopping. I could hear people yelling behind me, but the lobby was too busy for them to get to me. Not before my humiliation was completed.
The main doors leading out to the street were in front of me now, and my body had no fight left in it. This was happening, and I knew that there was no way to stop my complete exposure.
As he kicked open the door, I felt myself shoved forward into the bright sunlight right before my adversary was tackled to the ground. I had been seconds away from avoiding this, but as I stood up, I saw the swarm of reporters that were awaiting the news of Lucas’s sentence. Instead, I would be front page news.
They ran up the stairs towards me, and there was nowhere for me to run.
“Mr. Alexander, why are you naked?”
Shit- there went the small chance of my anonymity. The news camera was trained on me and my identity, and I had to answer something.
“The justice system can be brutal, and Lucas Everhold proved that today. He did this to me before he was sentenced, and I hope that all of his business associates see who ended up somehow getting a worse fate than this.”
“One more-”
And somehow, I was able to turn and walk away. The reporters continued to yell questions at my retreating ass, but there was nothing left to say. I had been beaten down today, and I was left with nothing but my shoes after my tie had been ripped off in the struggle at the main entrance.
People walking from the parking deck towards the courthouse saw me, and I didn’t even move my hands to cover myself as they lifted their phones to record me. There was no dignity left to defend here, and I just passed by them with solemn nods.
This was the end of one phase of my life and the beginning of something else, but I just wasn’t sure what that phase would entail. All I know is that Lucas Everhold had lost, and that was almost worth all of this.
