So for October, we decided to do an entire Excursion on it! We'll be talking what-ifs for the film years 1979, 1988, 1995, 1997, 2000, and the year that got us the Best Picture Ten, 2008.

King Charles doing that Full Monty thrust after the movie came out is, sadly, headcanon for me now

I’m so late to the party, but I love these types of excursions!! Because of this episodeI started watching Apollo 13, which I’d never seen before:) Also, I think Penelope Cruz’s performance is one of the best wins of all time. Also great example of a true supporting role. I rewatched The Reader recently. It’s a better movie than I recall, but definitely not Kate Winslet’s best performance, though she gives a worthy one with a very difficult and imho not well-written role.

I love how 1997 was a year people got into the Oscar’s because of titanic but for me I was so excited that a film from Yorkshire was nominated despite being too young to see the full monty

Was looking up “Bale Out” since I totally missed it back in 2009 and screamed when I saw it was made by LUCIAN PIANE 💀
